There's a book, "Potty Train in Three Days". I want to know if it works.

It is possible to potty train a child in 3 days, but I have not seen the book you refer to. I can only tell you about my experience with my own child.
I tried books, videos, talking to him about it, reading books while on the potty, etc. to no avail --- tried that two different times for periods of about 2-3 weeks at a time. So frustrating!! Then gave up to try another time.
Unbelievably, but true--- my son was potty trained within a day, but ONLY because it was his idea. He was embarrassed by a family member (a beautiful young woman) when she had to change his diaper and made a comment about being surprised he was still in daipers, that she thought he was a big boy (he was about 2 weeks shy of his 3rd birthday). The next day he told me he wanted to try the potty again. He never went in a diaper again. We kept one on him at night for about 2 weeks after that, but he never went in one.
I think it really is up to the child - he/she will become potty trained when they are ready to be - the only thing I can liken it to is someone that smokes or drinks - they will only quit when they decide they really want to. - we can want them to quit, but it won't happen until they want to. Potty training is the same - the child will potty when they are ready to and want to get rid of diapers.

Good luck, I know it can be very frustrating. I don't know if it is possible, but it would be great if you can come up with a way to make your child decide they want to do it mentally - without even putting them on the potty. I think that is more than half of the battle. I was lucky that someone else was able to make my son decide he needed to do it. Unfortunately I am not one to be able to tell you how to do this - wish I could. My son is very headstrong and opinionated - they surprise me at such young ages! Good luck and don't give up, it will happen ;)

My sons were potty trained a little after age 3. My daughter at age 2 and 2 months. The most important thing is to potty train when your child is ready.

I've never heard of this book, but I am on day 2 of potty training my child and I don't see it happening by day 3. BUT some toddlers are a lot easier to train than others.

No it doesn't...it teaches how to get your child to sit on the potty, to know when your child needs to potty, but a child is not FULLY potty trained until they are dry 24/7. I suggest using the pages of ANY book on how to potty train as toilet paper, that's about the only GOOD use they have.

Raised 4 children, quickest potty trained in about a month so invest in some pullups - leave the book on the shelf and devote some time to your child instead of some book that will only make the author wealthy.

For some reason my kids trained faster in the summer than winter. And girls are easier than boys....

I tried that and had good luck. My daughter was not totally "trained" after three days, but she had learned how to recognize when she had to go and that the bathroom/potty was where she needed to be even if she couldn't always get there herself.

I am glad I used the system because it got us off to a good start and within a month or two my not-quite 2-year-old was completely independent.

My oldest was potty trained with only one accident on the first day. Most likely it depends on the child. My second one took about a week.

Probably depends on child's age. I know a friend's mom who was a foster parent who could train 3yr olds in 3 weeks. WIth a few accidents. But it also depends on the childs developement if their bladder or other is mature enough,

Totally depends on the kid. I don't know about that book, but I potty trained my first in three days. My second one took closer to three weeks. He was stubborn! I called my mom and told her I wanted to put him back in diapers! I have 6 month old twins, and he was a handful. She made me promise that I'd keep him in underwear. I just had to get hardheaded back. He got the hang of it though.

i have been trying to encourage my son on the potty since he was 1 1/2... He's now 3 and has only just started doing it properlly. Only since about September has he been actually telling me he needs to go, and is now going by himself. Although he's still in Nappys at night.
