We were together at my house X-mas eve and all the cousins were over. My son has a strict routine we abide by so at 8 pm I told him to come with me upstairs for pagamas. He is not potty trained well so at night I use double cloth diapers and pins and rubber pants. He was upset he had to come back downstairs with me after with his obvious diaper bulge bottom and such smelling like baby powder but i was busy and he was whinny so i told him to get over it and stop crying...my sis in law said he should be sent to bed right away but I told her to chill and mind her own business. Was it bad how I handled it/

We just had our son last week and my 2 yr old is throwing tantrums and i don't want her to feel im pushing her away, but i feel that not giving into her is the best way and let her fight it out by herself in the floor. She did this before he came, but it has gotten worse now.i don't want to spank her right now because i know it is a jealousy issue and i don't want her to think im prefering him over her and spanking her over her tantrum would only make it worse at this point.I've tryed talking to her to explain things are alittle different, but she is still my princess. She is only 2 so it is hard for her to understand this.I try giving her one on one time when he is asleep and playing with her to let her know im still here for her.Any advise from a mother that has gone through this who can share their experiance would be greatly appreciated.
I do spank my child when she is bad and let her know why i spanked her so please if you don't believe in spanking don't comment.

While Parker’s diagnosis is now a year old, he has not been affected by tantrums until about a month ago. They are extremely erratic and unruly. I will not become the parent of the Autistic child who keeps their trouble locked up at home. I am very proud of who my son is and will someday be. I must find a way to help him.

My 12 month old just recently started feeding himself. He does not chew very good and has a tendency to swallow things whole. What are some foods that I could let him eat that he wouldn't be able to choke as easy on? He's no longer interested in baby food and I want to be sure he's getting adequate nutrition.

I have known this spoiled 5-year old girl who always gets into trouble but her parents don't believe in discipline. She has punched me on the stomach, 2x (im pregnant) and hit me with her fist on the head real hard. (Im the aunt.) When my husband finally got her and her mom, she started crying and said, "There's something wrong with my head. Its always telling me to do bad things. We have to go to the doctor to have it fixed." This is a 5-year old girl...and do you think she's lying or she's really telling the truth?

She is 4 years old, very smart and talks very well. Sometimes she will say "Huh" when you talk to her, sometimes she will not acknowledge you at all. But sometimes she will answer or talk to you.

My son will turn 3 end of this year. He can identify more than 700 objects. He can even add and subtract in single digits. He can speak in sentences. However he still uses a lot of gibberish. He will say "The whale is in trouble"..then lapse into babble...then back to "let's rescue whale".My doctor says that a 3 year old should not be exhibiting *any* babble and asked me to see a Speech Therapist immediately.

We are a multiracial family. I speak english with a British accent and my husband is American and speaks like a mid westerner. We don't baby talk. We read to him daily. We thought our kid was doing great, but now wonder. Does anyone else have experience or advice?

I currently have two little guys--one 12 months & one 3 years--of my own, and I am considering taking on watching my friend's little boy who is 15 months (I've been watching him all week). I am concerned about this taking a lot of time away from my kids, especially the three-year-old, who really needs a lot of direction right now. But it IS nice to have the extra money from babysitting, and I want to provide a secure place for this little guy whose parents are divorcing and has been passed around from place to place recently. I feel very sorry for him, and I know I would be a good daycare situation for him. His mom also doesn't have a lot of money and I wouldn't charge her as much as a local daycare would. My kids seem to get along pretty well with him, except that my three-year-old gets more hyper, and my one-year-old seems a whole lot more clingy. And, sometimes having them all REALLY stresses me out! What should I do?

My daughter refuses to sleep in her crib. I have let her scream for an hour. Checking on her of course. I nurse her and she thinks she has to be close to me at all times. I let her fall asleep with me and then I lay her in her bed but as soon as she hits her bed she wakes up and screams. I have tryed sitting next to her and touching her with my hand but she just stands up and screams mom mom! If you have any suggestions please let me know the secrets! I have alsodone the bath massage and then nurse her to sleep but when she hits that bed like I said she pops those little eyes open and it is over from there.

She doesn't do this with liquids and sweets. She's relying on liquids (especially PediaSure) to make her full. If you're going through something like this, what did you do or are doing. Thanks!!

My daughter turns three in March and since we're going to Disney right after, we can't throw a big party. I thought of throwing a small princess party at our house this year and only inviting a few toddlers her age, their parents, and grandma and grandpa. Is it rude not to invite other adult family members and their older children? (we have ALOT of family on both sides and we invited them all last year. We also had it at the skating rink so it was big enough). So what would you do? Please Help!
