My 2 year old daughter is having problems falling asleep and staying asleep through the night. She starts screaming and crying when I put her to bed and then once she falls asleep she will wake up through the night crying and being upset. I think alot of it has to do with being away from me for so long so if anyone has any kind of help they can give me then I would really appreciate it. And before anyone starts telling me about having a routine we do have one set routine of eating dinner, taking a bath, reading a book, and going to sleep. So thank you for your time.

I wouldn’t call myself a "cook" but I pretty much have the basics down. I don’t usually have enough time to really fix my daughter a good home cooked meal. Her meals usually consist of canned or microwave foods. Now I want to get into the habit of making her healthy home cooked meals so she can have good eating habits. Any suggestions on easy but healthy meals that my toddler might enjoy for breakfast and dinner???

My son was born premature, has physically grown out of that, but I worry about his mental. We know he's not handicapped mentally, however we have tried to teach him the things most 4 yr olds have down,(shapes, colors, etc.) every other time he gets colors right but shapes, Circle is the only one he seems to be able to identify readily. We are currently haveing him tested to see if he needs special language thearapy, but so far the tester can't get a good understanding because consistenly he get one answer right and on wrong. I know my son is smart, he does things that prove it , I am at my wits end trying to communicate with him and teach him the things he needs to enter kindergarten and excel in academics. I am a poor mom I can't afford all the dr. help available. So maybe someone can give me some stories, clues, advice, hints any thing to help me figure out how to gwt a smart boy over a unknown hump. He dosen't speak well either, although in that respect he tries very hard.

They have a two year old and one on the way, she is 19 and will not clean her home. My son works all day and he cut his hand and could not do the dishes and she refused. My grandson smells of smoke and they have piles of dirty clothes which she will not take to the laundry mat, she won't clean up and she babysits a friends kids and the friend doesn't care her home is filthy. I can't stand to go over there most of the time, My son feels his hands are tied he has argued with her many times, but will not leave because of his son and future child. She will not work outside the home. Is there anything I can do? Legally can her children be taken away, They live in subsidized housing, because she won't work.

ok... my son just turned two...
and his mother and i catch him playing with himself ALOT... and not just normal like pulling on it "what is this?" kinda stuff..
iv caught him humping the bed in his sleep..
he is always pulling off his diaper at night and playing with himself...

is this normal or is this a learned behavior..
the reason i ask this is because his daycare provider and mom are friends.. and shes told us about her sexlife and all...
she complains that no matter what she does her b/f is a cronic masterbator... i guess that he beats off ALL the time.. .. .
could it be that Georgie is seeing this and imatating...

but then theres the fact that he does it in his sleep....

like last night.. i walked in to his room to check on him.. and he was like grinding and humping the bed.. and he was moaning while he did it... now that is the wierdest thing iv ever seen in my life..
what is going on here?.. can anyone enlighten

Everytime I take my daughter out to a place where there are other people like the grocery store she will curl her legs underneath her and sit on the floor whinning and refusing to go in...Even if it is to her grandparents house she will do the same...we have to drag her in and she will hide behind us for most of the time or she will get overly hyper and start running around and hiding in quiet areas like behind the counters at the stores or in another room of the house.

At first we thought it was so cute but now it is getting more frustrating...Please help!

I've been trying to remember all of the nursery rhymes/kiddie songs I knew growing up. My 18mth old loves listening to them, especially the ones with hand movements. Any new or old ones would be cool!

She is 17 months old and very used to waking up in the middle of the night for a nice, warm milk bottle. She only drinks a bottle at naptime (water) and for bed (water) and milk in the middle of the night. I think she wakes up hungry, even though she always has a snack right before bed.

My 4 year old daughter is driving me crazy. She is loud and noisy most of the day. She has a 1 1/2 yr. old sister who she is jealous of at times. She is often excitable but often very happy. She really just wants attention and wants to be liked. Her nursery school teacher says that academically, she is off the charts. But often kids put their hands over their ears when she talks. I'd hate for her to be losing friends over this. She does not have any hearing issues either. Is anyone in this situation? Any suggestions?

If you're taking the kids/nephews/nieces/etc. to the beach, what do you do to get sand out of their trunks and booty's after?

I've seen moms actually take their kid by the shower pull from behind their trunks and just clean right their with their hands.

How do others handle this?

How do you help them get it out?

How would diaper checks be run in a daycare type of enviroment? Tons of kids, how would you know who made a mess, or if any of them made a mess?
