my 19 month old will only take naps half the time. When she doesn't take a nap she gets real grumpy around 4pm which by then it is too early to put her to bed for the night. I know the is normal.. I am just wondering how you other mommis dealt with it?

My 17 months old daughter loves meeting people at the market, the park, the zoo and on walks. Today we brought her to an outdoor neighborhood party and she was terrified. I think it was all of the noise and kids running around screaming. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this and did your child outgrow it? What did you do to help? Thanks!

I recently told him that pirranahs sometimes inhabit toilet water and that someday they will leap out of the toilet to munch and eat his butt. LOL!
Bad, I know...but now he's taking squats over the kitchen sink and popping in there out of fear of pirranahs chomping him up. I'm thinking of telling him that grizzly bears inhabit kitchen sinks....By the way, hes already ruined my Chicago Red Wings coffee cup. Damn brat...so any suggestions?

She bobs her head from side to side in what seems to be a fight against sleep. She does this quite rapidly and I worry about her damaging her gentle brain in the process.

I have a 4-year-old going on 15! I love my son, but he's been driving me and my husband nutts the last few months. He memics me, talks back, delibrately does things he knows he's not supposed to do, and most importantly, doesn't listen most of the time. He refused to take time outs, and even though I'm not a fan of spanking, I have done it a few times, but that doesn't even help. Even taking away privileges, like watching TV doesn't do it. How can I get him to understand that I'm the boss, not him? I find myself constantly disciplining him or telling him "no", instead of enjoying our time together. I know he's probably acting like a typical 4-year-old, but what can I do to make life more pleasant for all of us? Any tips on how to keep my patience?

I have a 2 year old daughter and I'm on a limited budget. What are some inexpensive ways to make her room cuter? Right now it's just a crib and a dresser. She really likes Elmo, so I'd like to include him in the decorations.

I have had a week from hell! My infant was hospitalized with RSV, daddy is a truck driver so my 3 year old and I were stuck in the hospital for 5 days. The morning of our discharge (yesterday) my 3 year old woke up with a temp of 101.4. I have been giving him tylenol and motrin. So now he has no fever. But he started complaining tonight after his bath that his skin is itchy. I am so worried. Any Ideas???

My 3 year old son recently began simulating sexual activity with dolls, which he first undresses. He holds them up with their legs spread against his genital area. I have two older girls who never did such a thing, so I don't know if this is normal behavior for a boy or if it is a sign of something inappropriate going on ... He has been with the same daycare provider since he was 11 weeks old and my daughter went there, too, with no problems. We have "caught" him doing this with various dolls several times in the past two weeks. Not sure how to react. When we ask him where he learned that or if someone showed him, he just says "me." Does someone else do that? "No, just me." I did talk to my babysitter, who was also worried. I should mention that she and her husband are the kids' godparents, so I trust them, but I wonder where this is coming from.

My son is three and refuses to drink anything but chocolate milk, pop, or tea. When I try to make him drink juice or water he cries and won't drink anything. He is almost 4 and i'm afraid when he starts school he will go all day without drinking anything. School only serves white milk, juice or water. HELP!

Beyond water, I've heard arguments for milk and 100% juice. Just curious. Thanks.
