She has not been eating nothing now for a week. Shes not a big eater to begin with but now she totally stopped. My family thinks im just over reacting Could something be wrong?

Your daughters case sounds serious. Pneumonia can be a tricky thing to diagnose so you will need a professional's advice. This last summer my daughter was coughing for several months, I thought it might just be allergy since she never had a fever, didn't seem lethargic, didn't even feel sick (she's 9 yrs) but finally I decided to take her to the doctor and check. I was shocked and amazed to find out she had pneumonia ( the walking variety ). So now I know that 1. I shouldn't put off taking my child to the doctor if my instincts are bothering me about it. and 2. Your child CAN be seriously sick without a lot of symptoms. Good luck!

I am so worried about your daughter after reading your question! My daughter had a touch of pneumonia 2 weeks ago, and she didn't even have the bluish lips yet. If your daughter has blue lips or a blue face she needs medical attention immediately, it means she is needing oxygen and could die if she doesn't get it. Please respond back and let us know how she is. It breaks my heart to think she could be suffering because your family refuses to believe that something is so obviously wrong.

There is also now a vaccine for a certain type of pneumonia.

Take her to the dr. If you feel something is wrong dont listen to anyone else. Doctors are use to having parents overreacting, its better then not reacting and having your child be very sick or risk permenant damage. Blue-gray lips mean your daughter is not getting enough oxygen and the fact that she hasnt eaten in a week, shows something is very wrong.

If any of us are doctors we still could only tell you one thing. Take her to see a doctor right away. Don't waste time on the internet foolishly. Better to be safe than sorry. I do know from experience that kids can seem to be at death's door to us and then 5 minutes later their hellbent to tear the house apart.

Could be pneumonia or RSV which both can be very serious. Go immediately to the ER. If she hasn't been eating and her lips have turned, something is terribly wrong. Don't think, just go.

Take her to the doctor to get a chest xray - that's how they can see if she has pneumonia. Good luck.

u might want to go to the hospital just to make sure she is all right and just keep trying to feed her something small like chicken noodle soup or toast
