Brittax is supposed to be the best, but are a little price-y. I went with an evenflow triumph, it is easy to use, has the five point tie down system and was not too expensive, I think the guy said it was like #2 or #3 on the list of best seats and it grows with the child from newborn to 80 lbs. Of couse, it is a seat that stays in the car...not a carrier seat that you can take with you to shop. (I usually just carry my kiddos while shopping)

I did some research, and ended up purchasing a Brittax Marathon car seat. They are pretty expensive, however. Several of the Graco seats are fantastic and worth checking out too.

Try consumer reports, they will tell you which ones are safe, easiest to use, best buy for your money.
