I just found out that I am pregnant. My daughter is used to being the center of attention. I want to say that Mommy and Daddy are going to have a new baby but I don't want her to feel left out once the baby comes. I want to have her be excited but I don't want her to feel like, "Mommy and Daddy don't like me so they are going to get a new kid."

A while ago I asked a question regarding a check up on my daugther's father income which I knew that he was earning more since 2 yrs ago and I know child support will do a check up every a 3 yrs that means they will find out about it anyways rigth???
The thing is that a person answer like I was looking for more $$. But thank God all this almost 6 yrs I have never ask for more I only receive $80 per month and all goes to her savings account, but I think aliitle bit more will not hurt, since I am getting a asurgery and will be out from work for almost 2 moths it will be a way to help my self a little I have my savings but still will not be enough.. Like I said still child support was going to find about this in few months and the payment was going to increase . If It was for the money I would of done it before ( 2 yrs ago when I find out) ... So why do people think it is just about the money??He haven't being a good father because he doesn't look for her not even in her b-day.!!

she seems very, very greedy, I know most toddlers are, to a degree. She bites at the drop of a hat, another child can just come to close and she is ready to bite hit, scratch, for no reason. She is very posessesive of every toy, She eats all of her food, lunch, snack, and or treats very fast and will hurt the other kids and try to take theirs, I have talked to the parents, she claims thats not like her to do these things and says we will work on it, she told me I could spank her, I rarely do, we time out, we talk we do every thing I can think of, I'm at the end of my rope... I have never encountered a child this agressive, greedy and mean, for her to be so young it worries me, any help is apprectiated.

My husband and I have a big decision to make about our 1st going to preschool. I'm not sure if he is ready for it just yet, but have no idea of what IS ready and what's NOT ready. Should he be able to FULLY communicate and understand everyone or is it okay that he is still learning? I'm not quite sure about what or when the right time is. Could someone please aid us in making our decision? I'm probably making this harder then what it should be, but I don't want to "push" him.

My 3 year old daughter picks the skin around one of her fingernails when she sits on the toilet, or when she is in timeout. Sometimes she'll pick this one finger to the point of bleeding and then begs for a bandaid. She just started biting the same place recently. Could this be boredom or something to pass the time while we make her go to the bathroom or something else? How can I get her to quit. I just tell her to stop picking her finger. She stops for the time, but then she is picking again the next time she sits down.

My fiance and I are in love with his nephew. Hes an amazing 4 year old boy, who doesn't get the attention he deserves. We watch him every weekend and his mom cares more about her boyfriend than her son. And here she is, pregnant again. I just know he will be left in the dark when that baby comes. The father is in prison, and will be for who knows how much longer. I want custody of him and i don't know how to go about that. I want him to have the attention and love he deserves. What do i do???

Lately my neice hasn't been feeling well(she's better just got a runny nose and went to the doc), well lately since then when someone tells her nicely and gently not to do something when she's into something she's not supposed to be, she screams and cries. Is that normal?

Also she's been hitting herself in the face if she don't get her way. Weird.

I tell my son when I am scolding him "that's ridiculous, you have to clean up your room...!" and now he says "that's diculous!," but it sounds like "that's dickless." Should I stop him from saying that or should I not even let him know that he is saying a bad word

I recently noticed in the behaivour of my new 6 year old son ( my husbands but i m going to adopt them because their mom died ) that when things aren't done as he wants and when he wants he throws tantrums (yells and throws toys or objects or hits us). Time out doesn't work. Taking things away doesn't work because he has many toys and games and he always finds something else to be intertain with. Is this only a phase? Or we need to take action now but how?

My son is almost 3. We have been trying to potty train for almost a month now. He will run and pee on the toilet, but won't even attempt to poop. After he goes in his underwear though, he wants to be cleaned up right away. I try to catch him while he is going, but he runs away to finish, then takes off his underwear. Any suggestions?

The time has come for me to go back to work after maternity leave. My little boy was born prematurely at 24 weeks gestation and spent the first five months in hospital the last seven months he has spent with me as his sole carer. I take him to a kiddie music class once a week and visit his grandparents often.

We are now torn as to what type of childcare we should go for, a creche which is near my work or a nanny who will look after him at his own home.

My little boy's only problem with being born prematurely is having a bad chest and as I don't drive, I don't relish dragging him onto a bus at 7am but my husband fears that he may be isolated with a nanny rather than a creche, he is also worried about the horror stories you read about.

I'd love some thoughts and opinions from everyone.

Thanks in advance for your help

Margaret

My problem consists of 2 items. The first one, is while feeding him at home in the high chair, he tends to want to stand up and turn his body sideways. The second one, is while at a restrauant, we brings toys to keep him busy and feed him crackers as an appetizer while waiting on our food, but by the time we begin to eat our entree, he wants out of the highchair.
He is a very good baby!!! Other than these 2 issues that started this weekend, we have no problems...yet.

My son is turning 5 in 3 weeks, and I am trying to come up with ideas for his birthday party. He never really had a birthday party with friends before. There are no kids his age in our neighborhood, but he now has a few friends from preschool that he wants to invite.

My brother in law visited with his family.
He has an 11 month that they let cry it out at bed times
these sessions lasted 1 hour to 1.5 hours sometimes
I have a toddler which was scared from the crying and coudln't sleep
I have a newborn that was being woken up constantly
Now for my husband's sake I told them to do what they have to do, whatever to make their stay comfortable.
But when they left I was thinking that since they were only visiting for 3 nights couldn't they have just layed down with her to have her fall asleep quietly. The screaming and crying was driving everyone crazy and it made me so happy to see them leave after only being her 2 whole days. I just thought if it was me, I wouldn't do that to other people's kids, you want to teach your child to cry it out do it in the privacy of your own home.

If you are black, hispanic, E. Indian, african, etc. and have a little girl do you find it necessary to buy ONLY ethnic looking dolls for them? I'm black and my 3 yo daughter is half black and half E. Indian so her color looks like a black girl. I grew up playing with black, white and brownish colored dolls and had no problem with it. To me a doll is a doll and that's how I think little girls see it too. However, my husband who is black thinks she absolutely HAS TO HAVE a black doll. We had an argument in the middle of Toys 'R Us on Saturday because they had ALL white dolls and NO black dolls. And to my embarassment he even got a stock guy to get up on a latter to look on the top shelves for a black doll. She has 2 or 3 black dolls & 1 white one which she picked out herself so it's not like she even cares to find one that looks remotely close to her. I don't give a flying fig what color she gets but he seems to think she'll suffer some identity crisis if she plays with white ones.
