Any tips on flying with a toddler. This will be his 5th flight, but the last trip he was a bit restless. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Bring lots of distractions, a pacifier(if he uses one), rent a portable DVD player, puzzles, books, anything hand held, try like the dickens to get an exit seat. Also, bring them to the airport tired and ready for a nap....this may mean waking them and yourself up earlier than normal. Good Luck

My daughter was 15 months when she had her 1st flight. She was excited to board the airplane the pilot gave her this little American Airlines pin,but coming back home was a nightmare for me and the other passegers as well. Nothing worked (singing,DVD's,toys etc.). Looking out the window at the clouds and how high she was calmed her right down. Little too late we were back in NY.lol Just make sure you aren't waiting a long time to board. I think that played a major role in our experience.

i flew with my daughter when she was that age. We got a little pull along kids suitcase and let her pick a couple toys she wanted to take on the plane then i got a couple new toys (a little thing where you push a button and the thing inside spins around with lights, a new coloring book and crayons, and a magnadoodle thing with attached pen) We also brought along a portable cd player and i had made some cd's with all her favorite songs. She liked that the best since she thought wearing the headphones was so fun =) I also brought snacks for her.

The most difficult thing for your child may be the change in air pressure going up and coming down. Be sure to bring something that he can chew or suck on during takeoff and landing. This will cause him to swallow, helping to equalize the pressure in his ear canals and making him more comfortable.

Otherwise consider the normal distractions that you might take on a long car ride.

wake up early.. before you go on flight.. or you can play with him longer the night before.. so he be taking nap on the flight... Or you can just play with him for sometime on flight and tell him it nap time...
