Cildren tend to think alike in soem sense. but rarely have i noticed two children who drawed alike in any sense other than their drawings are not straight or clear. That is because they are chilkdren and not developed fully. They are acting like children.\
Children act out what they are thinking, and their thinking level is
closely linked to each other.

all children follow a predictable course of art work, such as lines, open shapes, closed shapes, etc

once they have past those steps and sometimes during those steps children add their own "flair" to their drawings--colors, color combinations, shapes.

children who are allowed to explore all the avenues of art are then able to go on to other types of drawing and other types of mediums--

i have witnessed the child who has had multiple oppurtunities to express themselves with art --be very unoriginal in their woik--think that their work has to be like every one elses (like mom, teacher, brother/sister) but then go on to do their "own" projects with some encouragement.

and been able to watch a child who was never exposed to any type of art medium--be able to start from step one and go on to do the most amazing things--a completely original drawing and paintings

offer your child as many as possible of types of mediums to try and different types of papers to work with and watch them create

It's their imaginations! Don't forget that they are kids, they don't know how to be a skilled artist. To them their picture represents something.

they do to us but beleive me they mean so much to them they would recognise their own drawings if you put 1000 other drawings in front of them.
