We can't get a vege into her for nothing, sigh. I do 'slip' them in quesedillas. Also, a while ago she would eat chicken no prob. Now, not-so-much. Concerned over her lack of protein...esp during this prime 1) brain development time and 2) acquiring 'tastes' time. Aside from fruit, we do not give her sweets. If she had six bottles of milk a day, she'd be perfectly fine. BTW...her weight gain is fine @ 25lbs. Tx-in-advance!

Help me.. what should i do when the one year old that i take care of starts to act up as in have a tantrum.. I have tried talking to him but he wont listen.. i guess i made the mistake when i allowed him to do it in the first place so now he screams for anythings and hurls himself to the ground to get my attention..

I try to ignore him by leaving the room but he just chases me into the next room.. also its difficult to leave him alone in another room when the parents are there and wont do anything to help.

My 4 year old son is a wonderful little boy and I love him to death!!! But he constantly talks and interupts converations when I am speaking to others (especially my husband), otherwise he has great manners. I have told him time and time again that is very rude to interupt us or anybody else when we are talking, but it is like it goes in one ear and out the other. Sometimes it sticks, but then instead of interupting he will just be extremely loud. My husband and I have have tried to address it positivly with talks and time outs. But since it has been going so long, we are starting to get frustrated and quick to snap at him.
Does anybody else have this problem? If so, what do you do to make it "stick" in your childs mind that interupting others while they are talking/being loud when others are talking is bad manners and rude.

I be at home with my son all day every day. I just want to some opinions about this, because people tell me that he needs to be in day care. We are in the house all day together, I'm taking online classes at home. I teach him things, and talk to him all the time. My friends tells me that he needs to be around other children.

My nephew's 3 yrs old and absolutely refuses potty training even though he knows what it's for. In fact, he's always refused to even answer honestly when his mom (my sis) asks him if his diaper is full. He's so stubborn that he'd rather sit in a diaper overflowing with poop and develop nappy rash than to tell her. My sis is a strict mom but can't get him to give up diapers. In fact, stubborn-ness is my nephew's ruling trait and he refuses to take instruction even from the most persuasive of caregivers.

Their house is fully carpeted, she's 8 months pregnant and alone at home with the boy most of the day, so having accidents around the house is out of the question. They can't afford full-time help. Not only is her back killing her, she's worried that she'll have to start changing diapers for TWO kids when the new baby is born. She lives far from family and doesn't get much help.

What can she do? The new baby will be here soon!!

Okay I'm starting to wonder whether or not I want my kids to watch tv. I mean, I think it'll take away from their imaginations. I have two little cousins. They are both 3 yrs. old but are totally different. Lily never watches tv, but Reese does. Whenever Lily is at my house you can tell her imagination is just running wild! She'll tell you to keep the toy phone by the door so you can call the cops when the monsters get in or she'll mold something out of playdough and "feed" it to her stuffed lion. Even if the tv is on she won't even glance at it because she's always playing. Reese on the other hand will sit down for maybe 2 min. and play dolls but the whole time is watching tv and will eventually just drop the doll all together and keep on watching her show. I don't want my kids to be like that. I want them to be creative and have awesome imaginiations and I just think tv will ruin that. What do you think?

My daughter will only drink her milk in the bottle. Every time I give it to her in a sippy cup she takes a drink and throughs it. She will only drink juice in the cup. She has gone three days with out any milk since she refuses to drink it in the cup. I even put a lttle chocolate syrup in the milk, and she still refuses it. I did break down today and give her a bottle since all she has had in three days is watered down juice. My docter said he doen't push the issue of taking the bottle away until kids are 15 months, but I feel if I wait until she is older it will just be harder. Has any one had this problem??

I was wondering if you get a lot how long you keep the candy for. Do you throw away the rest? We have so much. We only went to about 50 houses, but I have 3 kids so it added up.

At what age should a child keep his room picked up? My sons are almost 2 (21 months) and the oldest turned 3 in july. I think they should pick up their own toys and keep their rooms picked up. I don't really care if the toy room is clean, but i want them to put the toys in iout of their bedroom (they are connected). I sometimes tell them too but then get mad bc they are playing or bc the younger one won't do anything. I realize he may be too small but he makes most of the messes. I feel bad making my oldest clean up messes that h didn't make, so i do it myslef. I try to get boh to help me, but they won't. Should I expect more? Should I mak them clean it? How can I get them to hellp?

My son spends a lot of time at his grandmothers house. Now my son prefers to stay there, and i dont blame him bc he is like a king there. He will go and spend the night over there probably as much as he is here. I don't really mind bc hey love having him and he loves being there.

The thing is that he is potty trained. We worked on that for quite some time. The problem is that he wont go to the potty when he is at home. He will do all kinds of stuff at his grandmothers. He wil go potty b himself, get his own drinks, wash his hands, brush his teeth, and so much stuff independtly. When he comes home he reverts into a baby. He won't do anything for him self. I've tried and tried with rewards and punishments and talking to him. He has 2 younger brothers at home. I've thought about the attention thing, but he gets alot of attention and praise. How can i get him to be more independent at home?

He is a relativly good and smart boy.

I have a 17 month old girl (and an 8 wk old girl). I was doing so well feeding my 17 month old healthy easy meals, but now that I have another little one, life has become a little bit harder in that area. Does anyone have any easy, healthy toddler meal ideas? Breakfast, lunch or dinner? I dont care. Thanks!

My 2.5 yr old is so loud. Sometimes I just can't take it, when I am trying to hear what my husband is saying or when the baby is sleeping he'll scream so loud and I tell him "shhh baby is sleeping, please stop screaming" and he'll do it louder and nonstop just to get a rise out of me. I can ignore it most of the time but sometime it just really gets on my nerves and after warning him several times I just grab him and put him in his room and shut the door for 2 minutes. How does everyone else deal with it? And please don't tell me to ignore it, I mean sometimes I can't even get a word in edgewise at doctor's visits or speaking to someone important on the phone for 2 seconds.
