Okay I'm starting to wonder whether or not I want my kids to watch tv. I mean, I think it'll take away from their imaginations. I have two little cousins. They are both 3 yrs. old but are totally different. Lily never watches tv, but Reese does. Whenever Lily is at my house you can tell her imagination is just running wild! She'll tell you to keep the toy phone by the door so you can call the cops when the monsters get in or she'll mold something out of playdough and "feed" it to her stuffed lion. Even if the tv is on she won't even glance at it because she's always playing. Reese on the other hand will sit down for maybe 2 min. and play dolls but the whole time is watching tv and will eventually just drop the doll all together and keep on watching her show. I don't want my kids to be like that. I want them to be creative and have awesome imaginiations and I just think tv will ruin that. What do you think?

I think tv is fine but only after a certain age and as long as it's not all the time. Letting them watch Sesame Street or Blues Clues is totally okay and they learn from it. It's the regular cartoons that don't do anything for them. I think it's best that they don't watch tv all the time because like you said, it takes away from their imaginations.

It just depends on the child. My parents didn't even own a tv until I was 8. I had no imagination and still don't. However tv can hinder an imagination if they watch too much of it.

All kids need limits on watching tv, but when I was little I watched it a lot and I still had a very large imagination. It all depends on the child. It also depends on what they watch. If it's something educational, that can even expand their imagination.

Too much TV might ruin it but I never had that experience myself. At that age, my kids watched very age appropriate shows but also played and did crafts etc. My oldest is now 12 and is a reader and writer and my 8 year old loves crafts and playing with her American Girl dolls.

I don't think that TV is all evil, but I think you do have a good point. It is important for kids to be able to entertain theirselves, and for you as a parent to entertain them. I don't know that I will cut out TV altogether, but I think regulating the amount that is watched is an excellent idea.

I wouldn't want my future kids to become so Tech Obsessed. Time limits are key, I think.
