My 16 month old has this small white sac looking thing hanging off of his gums. It looked like a tooth that just broke through the skin. I thought it was a tooth when I saw it a week and a half ago since it is right where his molars are and he is due for them. Then when I was checking for more teeth last night, i noticed that when he touched it with his tongue, it moved. I will be calling his doctor tomorrow when they open. But until then, has anyone else experienced something like this????

What do you think about hiring a male nanny or babysitter. What do you think about this situation: My neighbor has an 18 month old son and the other day I was talking to her about what she does for time away from her child. She said that she has a friend who has a 14 year old son and that he "loves" her little boy. She went on to tell me that the 14 year old always calls and asks her to take the boy for a while to the park or something. She doesn't pay him!! When she told me that it just made me cringe because why would a 14 year old boy want to spend all his time with an 18 month old baby for free. Now I know this is none of my business but I just want to know what other parents think about this or a situation similar to this. Would you hire a male nanny/babysitter?

I have a four year old boy. He is the youngest of three boys. He has an AMAZING imagination. I can't get over the stories he comes up with here, and at preschool, however, he also will lie when he does something wrong. (like when he cut his hair last weekend) He knows what lying is and that it is bad, but how do I teach him the difference between lying about something he has done, and telling stories. I really want him to continue with the stories.

Is anybody else going through this or have you before? I guess I'm looking for moral support more than advice. He KNOWS how to use the toilet if he wants. I honestly don't even care if he continues using a diaper. The problem is he WON'T keep on a diaper or pants. The instant I put any clothing or diaper on, he removes it. My spouse & I put him on the toilet or ask him about every 30 minutes, yet TWICE this afternoon I've had to clean feces up from floor. No, it wasn't diarrhea. He knew he was pooping on the floor.
I've heard boys are harder than girls but 3 1/2 seems pretty old to me. Has it taken anybody longer? Anybody out there w/ 4 year olds who refuse to use the toilet? Any advice? It's so frustrating! Some days he stays dry all night & only has one wet accident all day. Other days he refuses to use the potty at all. We've done rewards charts, stickers, praise, ignoring, let him wear wet pants.
We just don't know what to do. UHHGGG!
Please tell me he'll one day be trained!

Our 2 year old always wants mom to hold her, read to her, put her to bed, etc. If I try to do it, she says "No, I don't want you!" and physically struggles against me. I'm not jealous of their attachment, I'd just like to participate more often, and mom would like a break!

Please don't just say, "spend more time with her"; if it were that easy we would have solved the problem already.

Did anyone get depressed while they were pregnant, if so when did it start during your pregnancy and how did you know it was depression. How do you rule out just being over-whelmed or just aggitated?

My 4 year old daughter has angelman syndrome, and numerous other health issues. SHe is in a regular 5 point harness carseat. She is 34lbs. When she hits 40 she is too big for her seat, and we need to find another one that can support bigger children. She is not mentally or physically able to be in a regular booster seat with a shoulder strap. Does anyone know where i can find a seat like that?

for example does it have a car seat and where is the best place to buy this pram. My mum likes it as she is a teacher and believe strollers which are front facing affect the child speech development, the good thing about bugaboos is they face the mummy or daddy or granny. Anyone know of another stroller or travel system which offers the same, price is not an issue I want a child with good speech developement as I will be using it loads.

I have a 4 year old daughter and a 1 1/2 year old son. This is the first Christmas EVER that I am stumped on what to start shopping for. They have so much stuff! Of course, I would like to get them toys because 1) That's what Christmas is for, for kids... and 2) because they're learning and interests are expanding. My daughter was into Barbies, doll houses, pretend play, dress-up... I just don't know if they get boring to her...
My son, I just don't know.
Please, interesting answers... I'm the type of person to buy for learning, the sake of enjoyment and what you get get for the money. I don't buy just because they need gifts.
