Did anyone get depressed while they were pregnant, if so when did it start during your pregnancy and how did you know it was depression. How do you rule out just being over-whelmed or just aggitated?

Actually it turns out that a lot of Postpartum depression starts *during* pregnancy. It's not uncommon at all. Those hormones and the huge changes in your life can really do a number on you.

There are many online tests to screen for depression. Try taking one and then let your doctor know how you scored. (Here are a couple http://www.pndsa.co.za/ms-fc.htm http://ppdhope.com/doihave.php) Or you could try getting in contact with a PPD support group. Many of them are set up to handle depression during pregnancy as well.

Good luck, I've had depression and I know it's not easy. I hope you're able to get the help you need for you and for your baby.

I am 6 months pregnant. The baby was planned and I am happy, yet I have terrible highs and lows. I sometimes feel so down and scared, for what I don't know! One minute I'm angry, the next I'm crying. I have waves of fear wash over me everytime I think of having the baby. These feelings started pretty much as soon as I found out I was pregnant. I think it is in part natural fears but mostly hormonal. Just know that what you are going through is normal and it will pass. Look after yourself. If it continues after the baby is born, that's when you should seek advice.
