No. Your toddler is probably constipated and needs to drink more liquids and needs to get more fiber in there diet.

I have a pre-schooler who only poos every other day.

My pediatrician put my mind at ease, saying that it is very common for small children to have infrequent bowel movements. I have added more water to my sons' diet along with healthy servings of fruit each day. I also give him Benefiber tablets occasionally.

I would ask your pediatrician about the miralax.

If your child passes bowels without issues (even every 3-5 days) he is fine. I would not administer miralax unless a doctor has advised it.

I don't know about mirilax daily, but occasionally only when neccessary is okay. My son used to get constipated when he first started going to day care. It was b/c he wasn't used to drinking so much milk. Too much dairy products can cause this. I also gave my son mirilax and Milk of Mag, but only when I had to . Your doc should be able to tell you exactly how much you should give, but I would keep fiber, and juices in his diet.

My 5 yr old is very lazy about going to the toilet so when I notice he is holding it in. I give him strawberries and dried apricots. Works like a charm he goes within 4 hrs and the poo comes out easily. Go natural first. Good luck.
