This is what I did for both of my kids 2nd birthday parties: She and her friends will love simplicity: balloons, bubbles, pop up tunnels, paddling pools with bubble bath and colour tablets. You can get colour tablets near the bubble bath in Woolworths.
We played the "Hampster Dance" CD too. They kids went nuts!
Don't forget the ice cream cake!

I threw my daughter her second birthday party in June and, yes, she did know what was going on for those that say they don't! On the other hand, if you didn't throw a huge themed-hoopla she wouldn't know the difference. We did a Disney Princess theme and she loved it. We had play-doh, stickers, necklaces, and bubbles in the gift bags for the younger kids. (Just a note--I would suggests bubbles for outdoor parties only!) One of the gifts we got her was a sandbox, which kept the little one's very happy! If your daughters b-day is soon, a halloween theme sounds like a really neat idea! Depending on how many younger children are there and the ages, you may not need a game, but a craft project works well with a range of ages. Whatever you choose, think about what your daughter is into. My daughter was into everything princess; hence the princess party. My niece of the same age had a Star Wars party because she thinks that she is a Stars Wars Jedi! A theme also helps clue guests as to types of gifts to buy. If someone would have purchased princess toys for my niece, she would have never touched them because, in her words, Jedi's are not princesses :). Whatever you do, good luck and Happy Birthday to your daughter!

Little Mermaid is what I did for my daughter. We had a little mermaid cake, and then I just used the colors from that to decorate with a few ballons and a happy birthday sign. I filled some loot bags with candy and a inexpensive toy from the dollar tree store. Little mermaid just came out on dvd, so I'm sure any of the supplies would be that hard to find....Pull string Pinata and pin the tail on the donkey are fun for the kids, hamburgers or hotdogs to eat, go good with ice cream and cake:)...Good Luck

Since at this age the party is more for you than her, just use bright colorful decorations and have free play with age appropriate toys. 2-3 year olds have small attention spans and trying to direct them in structured game play is hard enough with 1 child that age not to mention a group of them. Kids that age always love music and body motion. Just play some fun music and encourage dance and copying the grown-ups.
Here is an article I found on Kids Domain that might help you. It talks about keeping it simple and flexible.
"We invited entire families to visit for our birthday parties for young kids, that way their parents are also around to both lend a hand and comfort their kids if they get overwhelmed. Besides, the parents also get to visit with each other then...
At that age, I would not worry about many organized activities, have some balls to play with, maybe a bean bag toss, and just let the kids play. Two year olds are just learning about taking turns and the like. You can break the free play time up by offering food, the birthday cake, and opening presents with free play time between each.
As for food, depends on who your guests are - easy finger foods that won't be too hard on your home if dropped (these are 2 year olds) that aren't choke hazards - like hot dogs cut long way into quarters, veggie pieces and dip (the parents might like that too), chips, luncheon meats (could be sandwich fixings for the adults), cheese chunks, cheerios, mini muffins, slices of apple... whatever the kids like to eat.
Most of all, have a good time - a couple families visting will be more than enough activity to keep everyone busy for a couple hours, and to celebrate the past two years... "

Have you already used the Princess Theme? That is what I am using for my twin daughter's birthday next month.
Here is a website where I purchased my party decor:
They seem to have the best prices around...and I have looked and looked. Even at party stores in my city.

Keep it simple still... Shes still small enough that too much can overwhelm her.
My daughters second birthday was in September. What we did is
-balloons, my daughter loves them.
-a craft for the older kids (my daughter tried)
-a few simple gifts, if she has everything ask people to bring their favorite childhood storie book.
-I bought things for her party with Dora on them because thats what she likes. But I kept it simple, cake, plates, a few party favors.
- I filled the little party bags with dora on them with candy and little gadgets they sell in the party isles.

Honey your baby is just two. Be real - the party is more for you than for her. She doesn't know what's going on yet. To help keep her and other children guests busy try an activity like making halloween pumpkins out of construction paper, or snowflakes with glitter and glue. I listed a couple of sites that can help you with some additional ideas. Have fun!
