Do you put them to sleep by holding them, rocking them, laying down beside them, put them in their crib, etc? How do they fall asleep? My son falls asleep when we are cuddling/holding him most of the time and by himself sometimes.

My neighbor is constantly in my two year olds face when we are coming and going. He tries to tickle her, poke, her and play with her. He seems to be getting a little more feely. I used to be friendly, now I cringe everytime I run into him. It is close quarters b/c we share a duplex.

We just moved into a bigger place across town and I think maybe she is having trouble adjusting. We also switched her back to her old daycare (after being gone for two months) My daughter just learned No and will say no to anything. She will shake her head and throw herself on the floor if she doesnt get her way. I cannot reason with her, she is smart but still very much a baby. What do I do?? I tried ignoring her and I tried talking to her and nothing. SHe gets more and more upset...

My 15 mths old baby gets up at least 7-8 times at night to have a feed.If i don't offer him then he cries like anything and at last i hv to give him.During daytime also he wants it before sleeping and otherwise also he wants it at least 3 times. He doesnt want to take solid food.He turns his face to most of the food.In general he likes fruits and doesnt take any external milk and has never taken bottle. He has 8 teeth so i don't know if it is a teething problem.Whole day he is clinging to me and his father is travelling most of the time so i'm the one with him for entire day.Till 6 mths he was ok in health but it went down and down and he is very skinny now.He is very moody in eating.I just want to wean him becoz i don't think it is helping him in anyways and rather it makes me run out energy.Whole night i can't sleep becoz of his feeding habbits. Is there any way i can wean him so that he starts taking solid food and external milk.I have tried variety of food with him but nothing works

My going to be four year old son. Has this big aditude lately. Screaming at me all the time and not listening, hitting his sister. He does not have any other problems like ADHD or anything like that. Its the kids at his babysitters he gets this from I am thinking he dont get it from me. I dont bellive in spanking a child unless they really deserve it. I had put him in time outs, sent him to his room, took his toys away and all he did with me taking his toys away was "here you go mommy give them to the little boy". He has a great personality and a sense of humor but just latlely he has been doing this. Nothing has changed been spending time with both my kids like always. Please help

My son is just over two. I don't force him to use the potty, but I do encourage him to try. Some have said that he's too young, but I'd like to hear what other parents have to say.

I breastfed my son for over 2 years and was made to feel ashamed. I always found it funny that a woman is considered the best mother in the world when she breastfeeds her 12 month old child but suddenly morphs into a pedophile at 12 months and one day! Personally, I'm proud of having breastfed for as long as I did and I know my son has reaped the benefits. He is extremely bright, rarely sick, and very secure in who he is. I just wanted to see if other moms felt the same way. I have a feeling more moms breastfeed longer but are ashamed to admit it. I thought this might be the place to get the truth....or maybe I'll discover I really am weird! Thanks.

Do you think a child is a baby until they are 2 or 3? Or are they toddlers as soon as they turn 1?

I've read the other potty training q & a, but my situation seems to be slightly different, so I'm here to see if anyone can help!

My son is 2 and 1/2, and I've been potty training him for 2/3 weeks now, either by letting him be naked or using underwear. He tells me when he wants to go, and will sit on the potty to wee and poo. The problem I have is no matter how close I situate the potty to him, (unless it's during one of the many times I encourage him to sit on it), when he wants to pee, he can't hold on for a milisecond and just pees where he is.

He knows he wants to get to the potty and that he's doing a pee, but it's the actual control element that's missing. Is this common? Will it improve if I persevere with the potty training, or is he just not quite ready? I'm unsure whether to continue and see if his control improves, or put him back in nappies and try again in a month or two? I've found that when I do put him in a nappy now, he immediately tells me when he's peed.

My daughter's 4th birthday party is this weekend. It's at an indoor playground, so there won't be much activity planning. But, I can pour my creative energy into food planning instead. :)

I remember as a kid we had some book w/ fun ideas on food that kids could make & love eating... like deviled egg sailboats & things w/ happy faces. I've thought about doing strawberry shortcake for dessert instead of cake. (Less sugar & more fun if it's homemade. :) ) Celery & peanut butter. Melon & cheese cut into shapes w/ cookie cutters.

Does anyone have any other fun ideas for kid food? Something that will add a special touch without being tons of work and still be relatively healthy? It would be great if you can point me to a web-site w/ lots of ideas & pictures.

I don't have time to order a book from Amazon. But, if you know of a good kids cookbook maybe I can find it at the local bookstore / library or save it for the future.

Thanks in advance for any ideas!!!

we've been happy with it. Today, though, the school informed us that tomorrow morning, there will be a local t.v. channel that will be filming in their classroom for a show on the channel that's called "the changes' which is a reality t.v. series that grants people in the movie industry a chance at fulfilling their dreams. In this case, there's a local actress who always wanted to be a pre school teacher. I told the school that it would probably be ok with us to allow our kid to join tomorrow, given they provide us with the ff info: 1. who this actress is, 2.) what she does in the showbusiness, precisely. So the school gave us details that we requested. I loked up these people on the internet, and I found out that the 'actress' is actually a sex-dancer and has been a sex- dancer since the age of thirteen! And the two hosts of the show are pornography-workers. I was so upset and gave them a piece of my mind. Was I wrong to do so?

And for the last month or so it has been
almost nigh impossible to get her to
eat dinner. My mother has her durring
the day and afternoon and as far as i know
she eats . But my mom said that she is even
eating less there too.
Is this unusual? I dont feel any teeth comming

Also she doesnt appear to be acting
abnormally or sickly.

I am scared that one of them will seriously injure the other, please any REAL advice would be helpful. Thank you,

I went to open house for my daughter's pre-school today and was apalled. My older son skipped pre-K because he was very advanced (could read at age 3) and began Kindergarten at a Christian school and continues to go there now (he's in 3rd grade). My school experiences with him were all wonderful.

This program that I've signed my daughter up for is state-funded. (My parents struggle to pay my son's tuition, and there is no more $ to send my daughter to private pre-K.) Anyway, there are 2 classes with 20 kids in each class, the vast majority of which do not speak English. The rooms were filthy, and the toys were so old and dirty looking that I wouldn't want my daughter to touch them. Also they still take naps on mats on the floor and cannot bring their own mat from home, so who knows what she will be sleeping in. The other thing that freaked me out was a dress-up area with hats. (Head lice?)

My daughter is excited about school, or I would just keep her home. What to do?

My 25month old son threw one heck of a fit at the doctor's office a few months back so she recomended ECI {early childhood intervention} to make sure he was alright. Well they have came twice and pretty much said in most areas he is right on track, but a few he is maybe 1-4months behind... Mostly because he doesn't grasp the idea of One, carry out comands, or talk in sentance form... Well pretty much they said an idea to try was sensory therapy.. He likes to jump and something about how a trampoline would help with joint compressions.. I looked it up on the computer and came across {sensory integration dysfunction}. Does anyone have any information on this? How do you tell if you have a spoiled brat, a spirited child, or if your child has sensory integration dysfunction?

Any ideas of things to do while I wait untill ECI sends me information on sensory therapy in the mail?
