I am worried because everything that I read says that he should have more words in his vocabulary. His hearing has been checked and that is fine. I hate to ask his ped, b/c I feel like he is already thinking that I am just over anxious. Any advice or experience with babies or preemies would be helpful.

Since I've had my son 3 1/2 years ago, my metabolism is not what it was before. I have a really hard time losing weight, even though I eat really well and exercise at least 3 times a week. I feel like giving up and being chubby(ish) forever, but I know it is not healthy. Do any of you have this too? What can I do to kickstart my metabolism?

Something I've been wondering about lately: generally, if someone insults me, I blow it off, but with the kids it's different and more personalized. What's a good way to teach kids how not to be bothered when insulted by someone else?

Who else here with children that listen to Nick Jr and Playhouse Disney cartoon theme songs, have those songs running through their head all day long? Especially the Wonderpets song!

He went to his 3 year old check up and when the doctor came in he said "Hello Lucas!" and my son said " Go cook a....muffin." very matter-of-factly. If that wasn't enough the doctor left the room and came back a few seconds l8r with a blueberry muffin from the lunch room.
" your muffins better than mommy's"

We all had a good laugh after that and my son didn't even notice when he got his shot because he was eating his muffin.

He loved preschool and was really excited to go everyday. His teacher got pregnant and when the kids started asking questions about her stomach she said "There is a baby in my tummy".
Lucas (my son 3-years old) came home crying but wouldn't tell me why. I finally found out about a week later when he said
" Mrs. Haphner ate a baby and now she is gonna eat me too!"
It was so cute and i felt bad for him because he was so genuinely terrified his teacher was going to eat him.

Have you or your children done anything cute like that?

My daughter is 2 years old and she's very active. She still sleeps in her crib and sometimes she manages to get out of it. I'm so concerned that she might fall off the crib and hurt herself. Is it time to convert her crib to a toddler bed? I'm also worried that she might get out of the bed while i'm asleep. what should I do?

My wife generally puts our daughter to sleep by rocking her etc.... However, recently she is very difficult to sleep she goes to sleep at like 12:00 mid when normally whe could get her asleep at 9:00 pm. She is also hyperactive in the night. We don't give her any sweats during the night nor the day. All I can think is maybee the heat wave (warm weather) however our house is A/C.... Is this just a stage??????
