She eats good occassionally then there are some days she just doesn't want anything....Is this normal? Any tips- etc....for getting her to eat more?

My son likes grapes, bananas, and peaches. That's about it for fruit, but that's a decent variety. Vegetables? I've tried small pieces of broccoli w/butter, glazed baby carrots, potatoes, etc. and he's not interested in any of them. However, he'll still eat Stage 2 vegetables from a jar (peas, mixed vegetables etc.) I give him those now just to ensure he gets his veggies. Any ideas as to how I can prepare vegetables in such a way that he'll like them? Note - He doesn't have much of a sweet tooth (thankfully). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

My 13 month old loves unplugging things from the wall and I am in desperate need of something that will prevent her form being able to. Perhaps an outletcover that snaps over the entire plate and has "trapped doors" so adults can plug and unplug things.

Could anyone recommend a good affordable childcare in either Marysville or Lynnwood, WA. I'm looking for only part time (2 days/week) Mon & Tue. for my 16 mo old. I've called around a couple places and they're either expensive (kindercare is $63/day) or they don't look very credible.

heres the deal..im a nanny who watches a 3 1/2yr old throws a temper tantrum every morning before coming to me. i watch a total of 4 kids..2 seperate families and she cries more than the other children the oldest 4yrs ..youngest 6mo. Shes a Daddy's girl..and personally i think shes spoiled. She whines when her popsicle breaks into small pieces, or if someone is sitting on her side of the couch..ANYTHING to whine about and she starts up..I sit her on the bottom step and let her cry it out..it may take up to 20 min..but she ends up stopping...however with mom and dad it lasts close to an hour and you could tell in their faces they're about ready to scream. She loves princesses and loves dressing up in dresses..i have suggested taking that away when she's out of order..however she comes over wearing a dress and im like 'wtf" she's a drama queen ever since she was born..firstborn of course and she's getting ready for another sis/bro next month...any suggestions?

I'm trying to get my 21 month old son to eat a variety of foods, but all he wants is pretzels. He is dependant on IV feedings due to the loss of his small intestine. He really doesn't need to eat at all for nutrition, but it's better for him if he does because it keeps his stomach and remaining intestine healthy. He's not hungry because of the IV feedings, so anything he eats would need to be quite tasty. Any ideas?

My soon to be 4 year old daughter is a very intelligent little girl always has been. She talked very early, was potty trained early and carries on conversations like an adult (people say she is 4 going on 21) however in the last month or so I have been trying to teach her how to write and recongnize her ABC's-since she has been able to recite them since she was 2 I thought this would be easy. But she does really well with writing them, but not so well when it comes to recongnizing them. It is like she has no interest in it what so ever. All she wants to do is sing the alphabet song and write her ABC's. I have tried several attempts. Each time she writes one I have her say the letter over and over. But then as soon as she is finished I ask her to tell me what letter she is writing and she completly locks up? What should I do?

I know this question is asked over and over, but I'm about to lose it! My son is 32 months old. He refused to wear diapers 5 months ago. My first thought was whoohooo, he's ready! We got out the potty chair and let him investigate for a few weeks without pushing the issue. We let him sit on it and once he did finally pee, we made a huge fuss and gave him smarties. That is as far as we have progressed up to this point. I set a timer for every 1/2 an hour and he has to sit on the potty when the timer goes off. Half the time he'll pee, half the time, he'll wait until he gets up and pee in his pants. I've stopped giving candy because he would ask to sit on the potty, not pee, get candy, then pee his pants while he ate his candy. I'm so frustrated right now that I'm losing my patience with him. I have taken breaks for a few days, more for my own sanity. We have tried offering rewards that require him to be trained, staying at grandpa's, preschool, etc. nothing is working! Help?

please help!! i overheard my 4 year old daughter and my fiance's 5 year old son talking about playing a game that involved "privates". i, of course, freaked out and yelled at my daughter and had my fiance have a talk with his son. after finally settling down and talking about this situation with my daughter i found my fiance's son didn't actually see my daughter's private area but was close enough and the game was definitely inappropriate. i don't know what to do. of course i told her to never do this again and it's never ok to show someone her privates but i'm still concerned. does she need therapy or is this normal behavior? i guess i'm so upset cause i thought the kids were being supervised well enough to not do something like this. i'm distraught, please help!!

I have two beautiful daughters who are 4 and 2. I love being a mother more than anything in this world, but I am kinda draggin really bad here lately. My daughters do not want to sleep at all. They stay up til like 4 oclock in the morning, and then want to get up at like 8. Four hours of sleep doesnt' seem like enough for kids their age. I can't figure out what to do. I usually try to clean house after they go to bed, which means I only get about two or three hours of sleep. I have no one to watch them for me so I can rest. I need someone to give serious and helpful answers PLEASE!!!!

My son is about 3 yrs old and got eczema as well, kind picking at food as he grows up. It is kind frustrated when I have to feed a 6 month baby and him during meal time. I usually turn on TV to let him have more appetise to eat meal, but his eyes just gluing on the screen and forget eat his meal all the time. If I turn out TV, then he used to cry and would not take any bite of meal at all. If I yelled at him and urge him to eat, then he just takes few bites of meal. At the end, he always can't finish his meal and it takes about 1 1/2 hrs to have his meal...so that I wonder if there is anyone who is good at parenting and feeding kids... please tell me how...PLEASE!!
