I think you partially answered your own question.
When we are little people, we can really see the magick in the world. We have not been taught ot dis-believe. As we grow older, our parents (who are just trying to help and protect us) start telling us what is real, and what isn't. Since it's much eaiser to do as mom and dad say, many little ones start to loose that sight that once came so easy to them. Now, if the parents also feel that there is some kind of magick in the world, they will help direct and foster the child's imagination and sight so that they can juggle the rational with the magickal and truly see the world.

I'm about to turn 20 and I still have a very child-like imagination. Some people may frown upon this and say things like "you need to live in the real world!" but those people just haven't experienced the real magic of the world yet. For me a stick can be an AK74 one day, a sword the next, and maybe the third day I'll have a rifle with a sword blade attached to it. I may look like a crazy person and act like a 4 year old, but at least I'm having fun. How many people can say the same?

Do people ever really lose their imagination? Where would we be if someone hadn't imagined people could fly, go into space, design a home, or computer program?
Without imagination, who would ever read another science fiction book? or write one for that matter? Who would perform on stage, in movies or t.v.? Who would visit area 51? or have that 20 pound trout slip off the hook just before it was in the net?
Who's grand da would have walked through 6 feet of snow to school, in their pajamas, uphill both ways?
Imagination, like hope, dies last.

Anywhere from 10 - 14. I stopped playing with barbies when I was about 12, BUT I still used my imagination A LOT up until I got my first boyfriend at 14 and realized what real life was.

I think a person starts losing their imagination the day that life becomes pressing on them. If their is not time to sit and think there is no time to dream.
I am not saying we should sit around all day and day dream. We have to work, we have to live life. But I do think we need to give ourselves a little time to think. That's where imagination comes into play.
And I think if you lose your imagination you can regain it.
I am 44 and I have gone through times when I had no imagination and times when I do. We just have to give ourselves a little time to imagine.

there is no end to imagination! my grandpa died 10 years ago at the age of 69 (i think 69) but anyway i dont rember him i was only 3 but everyone in the family said he told tall tall tales! so u only loose it when u becom bitter or sullen and think that you are too good for everything because at that point u think u become too cool to "imagine" things.

i recognize the way you sense, i'm no longer even out of highschool and that i have lost my mind's eye. at the same time as i replaced into 8 for instance, i could fill an total floor with my toy infantrymen and performance huge battles, now that is a uncommon prevalence for me. I from time to time favor to play with them for previous situations sake and then I merely take a seat there and do t recognize what o do. from time to time i am going to do what I used to do with them yet now it truly is a conflict. All i am going to say is anytime you sense ingenious, grab the instantaneous.

I would say around 10. That's when you have to start being "cool" and you begin thinking inside the box like everyone else.

as soon as they start school. Teachers try to stop creativity so they get everyone through the same curriculum.
