My mom used to mix my medicine up with grape jelly or something similar and put it on a biscuit. I never realized it was in there the flavor covers up all the yucky taste.

First check with your pharmacist, most of them for a little extra $$ are offering to add flavors of your choice to the med. Have you tasted iron supplement? It is NASTY! So this might help and it is well worth the couple $$. I, myself, with my 16 mth old get him to take his med like a big boy with the last bit being a "bigboy sip" from a little medicine cup. He loves to hear big boy anything at this point and I always make a huge deal when he gets it.....at this age most babies are just aching to get a great hand clap, ya know. LOL!! I sure hope this helps you.

I used to put medicine into my babys juice until she got to smart and figured that out. Another suggestion is to get him the pills. I used to have to take iron pills for my anemia when I was pregnant. I don't know if thats ok for babies but you could ask.

you can try blending it in a smoothy/drink for him.
Or if you make mashed potatoes, mix it into it (make sure they are really tiny pieces)
Reward the kid, like you did when you potty trained him.
Like 'if you take this pill Bobby, then you can have a piece of candy'
'or stay up 5 mins later tonight'
good luck
let me know how it turns out!

Is it flavored? If not ask the Pharmacist if they can. They try to flavor children's medicines when they can. Iron can be really nasty tasting...even in pill form. Try putting it in fruit flavored apple sauce. I have some grape flavored that I hide medicine in.

I would suggest the same as everyone else, put it in his favorite drink or yogurt or pudding. I would consult your doctor before doing so incase for some reason it will "dilute" the medicine. good luck.

My son has to take medacine too for certain reasons. If you could add his medacine to his food that's one idea. Another idea is to get those new pacifier madacine givers. They just suck the pacifier and in goes the medacine, without spills.

Just put it in his juice. Make sure he drinks it all by the time the day is over.

Can you put it on some bread and cover it with peanut butter and jelly? Kids love bananas. Can you blend it in smoothy?
