Possibly, my son did that, but he's not interested in training. Good luck!

Most children do this at some point. They come to realize that the diaper is there. I am sure diapers are uncomfortable. Since he has realized this, I would say start taking his to the potty. He will gradually learn that he can wear no diaper if he uses the toilet. Make potty training a game. The kids will love it. Be careful though, my cousin takes her diaper off if she has an accident because she knows that she shouldn't have gone in her diaper and she thinks it feels *yucky*.

I don't really think that at 20 months he's considering potty training. Most boys don't train until they are 3 years old or older. That's not saying that your baby couldn't be, I'm just saying that I doubt it.
It probably means that he just doesn't like wearing a hot, sticky diaper all the time. I'll bet you are using disposables instead of cloth. Cloth is much more comfortable and you don't have all that paper and plastic going to the landfills.

more than likly he just wants to be naked... why not it won't hur anything while your in the privacy of your own home...it's a great time to introduce potty training, like it you catch him about o go or in the act take him to the potty if he after a day of two of that you can then say 'ok, you can go around with out your diaper , when you have and accident we'll have to put the diaper back on' and follow thur... he might get the idea to " go" to the potty...and some basic rules about " his private area" ...
if he clearly is not realy and just has learn't a new skill you might have to switch to pull ups or put the plastic trainning pant's over his diaper. my son shows intrest in potty training just before his second birthday then lost intrest again 8 months later

wow that is cool, hes well young for doing that, but dont worry its a really cool sign, try and put him on the potty, 20 minuets after a meal or drink, he may find this really uncomfirtable, my son did. and a new technique i learnt is that putting the baby on the toilet, just before he has a bath, although at first the baby will not do anything, eventually he will get used to sitting on the toilet to do his pee and poo, and make sure you always praise him for attempting to stay on the toilet, this will re-inforce the fact that he is getting praised for doing something that mummy wants, and will continue, sooner or later he will be doing all his little pee's and poo's in the toilet, the sign that he is taking of his napppy may be learnt, but it also signifys the fact that he is aware that everyone does not wear nappies, the earlier you train him the better, dont spend every second putting him on the potty or toilet, when you have the time then try it, atleast he will become used to it, and when he's around 2 1/2 he will be sitting on the toilet and will not be difficult to potty train. some mothers feel that when kids do this , although that it is a sign they feel their children are to young, this maybe partly true, but should not be ignored. good luk hun

My son did that too.. what a waste of daipers. It didn't mean he was ready to be potty trained it was just something new he learned to do. Now he is 2 1/2 and has been using the toilet for about a month now. It just came on naturaly im sure urs will do the same when he is ready.

Probably, I had 3 sons and they are terrible to train if you wait until they're two. Dr Rosemond has a 3 day 75$ potty training method that actually does work. I did it with the third son and was amazed that it worked. It was just so much less traumatic than the traditional methods of coaxing, bribing, and begging. You can look it up on yahoo's search engine.

He is becoming aware of it and of his ability to remove it. It is a learning stage.
When he does this you can lead him to the bathroom and have him stand at the toilet. Then he will begin to associate the toilet with taking off the diaper.
Boys take a little longer than girls to potty train, so I would say he has another 4-6 months to go.

I thought that was a sign of potty training ready as well...but just a phase. It goes away within a month. He's just taking it off because he can. Keep overalls on him. Potty training too early causes later urinary problems {so the pediatrician told me}

Boy's are so much harder then girls but you may have a quick learner on your hands. I would definitely give it a try. Just try to be patient and see what happens. The worst that could happen is you don't get to stop buying diapers yet. I used the thick underwear with the vinyl underpants for training. They don't like to sit in the wetness and your couch doesn't get messed up when they have accidents...lol Good luck to you.
