My little brother is 3 years old. Since he was about a year, the doctors diagnosed him with an unknown muscle disorder. He hard has any muscle definition all through out his body. We were told that he might never walk but he did, very unsteadly but he's walking.
I just got a call from my sister that my brother was in the emergency room because he suddenly started having trouble with his leg. She said that it just went completely limp. He started dragging it behind him and was unable to put any weight on it. Her exact words was, he was acting like it wasn't his leg at all and that it wasn't there.
Right now, I'm sitting waiting for a call to find out anything. I know nothing other than what she has told me (she doesn't know anything other than that either). I was wondering if anyone had any bit of idea what could be happening. I'm scared to death. It was such a miracle that he was walking but now that it may be taken away from him, I don't know what to do. Any ideas at all?

Is Tom & Jerry too violent with all of the hitting and throwing of objects. I know we all grew up on this cartoon but I feel that I need to explain to my son that this is make believe and we don't do these things to our friends. But I cringe when Tom gets hit in the face with an iron and my son is beyound himself with laughter. This is the only cartoon I allow him to watch outside of PBS cartoons. I guess truly my biggest fear is he is not understanding that there are consequences when you throw something at your friends. Or maybe I am just over thinking this, as my husband would say and my son does get that these are things cartoon characters do it does not happen in the real world. Any thoughts......

Okay, I am a single Mom, work full time, already stressed. I know terrible 2s bring defiance, tantrums, etc but my little 23 mth old WILL NOT eat what I am giving him (foods that he has eaten with no problems in the past-and recently). I know some articles say this is normal, just get him to eat something & end of story but all he wants now is Pudding. His treat and sweet foods are limited to yogurt, pudding, unsweetened applesauce and occasionally crackers. I do not buy ice cream, chips, candy, or cookies for him (or myself). I'm trying to teach him that I am not running a restaurant, would rather not give in because then he'll think he can always get what he wants. I also do not want to be up during the middle of the night because I have a hungry child. I want him to learn this lesson, I'm fighting with myself to not yell and scream about it, but this is really driving me nuts. I don't have time to make 2 or 3 dinners for him per night because he's 'clenching his jaw'. HELP

I just took my 23 month old to get her first haircut ever. I HATE it. We went to a kids salon in town and I still hate it. I think it's too short. I had family and friends telling me my daughter had a "mullett" and they were beginning to convince me that it was one. Personally, I feel that a particular "friend" of mine was just jealous that her daughters hair was not as pretty as mine. With that said, my little girl's b-day is just shy of a month away. Any tips on how to get her hair growing faster??? PLEASE HELP!

He doesn't hauck a logie or anything....but he makes big loud juicy raspberries, and he spits and slobbers everywhere.

He does this to get a reaction out of other kids. Unfortunately his 13 month old baby sister thinks it is HILARIOUS and giggles with delight. Which of course encourages him.

Today at Daycare he was spitting all over, trying to entertain the other kids, and he even spit in the face of one of the teachers. He spent quite a bit of time in time-out today.

If you ask him "Isaac, what's the rule about spitting?" He says "No spitting, it's bad".

So what the heck does he keep doing this for? How can I get him to change the behaviour?

I have a 14 month old son who freaks when i change his diaper. He tries to roll over, get up, cries, kicks, I have even lowered myself to bribing him with marshmallows to keep him calm while I struggle to quickly get it over, and if its a poopy one then the fights really on because he'll kick and fuss so that he gets his feet and legs in it, how do I make diaper changing a normal thing?

My little toddler throws himself on the floor when his requests are denied (for good reason of course)

I get nervous when he screams and I try to get him to calm down by speaking calmly and saying things like "mama said be good" "stop" "its ok" "mama loves you please dont scream at mama" but he is bright red mad at mama and I get nervous and I dont want him to hurt himself but then he starts kicking and making his body "protester" heavy. I dont know what to do. His dad said to ignore him. (but i cant because Im scared he can hurt his head during his little rage) I dunno what to do. Do I leave him alone crying? Please help. He is a good boy 90 % of the time.

My son turns 1 at the end of this month and I have a party planned for him at our house. The kids attending the party will range from 1 to 4. I don't have an extremely large house. I have a large backyard with few trees. I already thought of bubbles...and we'll rent a moonwalk if we have to. I would really like to keep it on the cheaper side, though. Does anyone have any ideas of activities we may do with this age group? Anyone have any suggestions of what they have done in the past?

This is the theme

Okay my niece (Ashley) is 5 and her friend (Betty) is also 5, Betty lives next door. Bettys mom is divorced and is dating, I have no idea what goes on at Bettys house, but the other day Ashleys mom walked downstairs. She found Betty telling Ashely to lay on her back so Betty could "bounce on her". She was talking about sex. I am not sure if Betty has seen more than she should at home, but what should I do about Ashley???? She knows that Betty was trying to "hump" (thats what she says) her but she doesnt understand. They boys on the other side of their house are also trying to kiss her. ALL OF THESE KIDS ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 10!!! How to I explain to her that this is sooo wrong???
