Should I be worried or is it just because he wants to do what his sisters do?

He has older sisters and he looks up to them and wants to do what they do.

My nephew has two older sisters and used to do "girl stuff" with them when he was really young. He's in 3rd grade now and he's all boy.

This is kind of like asking if you should let your son play with dolls.. the answer is, it's normal. It's ok for a boy to do stuff like this.. when they are young. Its basically his way of imitating his sisters and getting in touch with his feminine side which could make him turn out to be a much more loving man as an adult...

And why do people seem so concerned with this, but it's ok for girls to be tomboys? No one seemed alarmed when I was out digging in the mud and climbing trees and playing GI Joes with the boys when I was little.. yet if a boy does girl things when they are little, its like the world comes to an end

My son, little brother of 2 girls, did the same thing when he was younger. He's 5 now and very much a boy. We didn't make a big deal out of it. Didn't encourage it or freak out either. I did take pictures and laughed about it when he wasn't around, but he outgrew it when he started hanging out with his own friends. I'm sure he'll be fine. The sisters probably see him as a dress up toy and he just enjoys the attention.

Don't spend another second worrying about this... I have taught two-year-olds for 14 years, and one thing they all love to do is dress up. We always have a dress up area in the classroom, and the boys are constantly dressing up in dresses, high heels, and fairy wings. This is a perfectly normal developmental stage! Children this age are just starting to discover the differences between boys and girls and the traditional roles that people take in our society. Especially with the fact that he has two older sisters to look up to- This is nothing to worry about. The message that you want to send as his mom is the same that you would want to pass on to your daughters.... that you can be anything you want to be! Encourage his creativity and let him dress up. As he figures out his role in his gender, he will gradually stop dressing up. In the meantime, take lots of pictures to show his girlfriends when he gets older!!

PHASE!!!
my 7 year old son loved makeup, lipstick and nail polish when he was 2. Won't go near the stuff now!
Mine didn't even have sisters. Just me. He'd watch me get ready and want to do what mom was doing. I never scolded him just washed his face when he was done, and went on.
About the time that he figured out he was a boy "like daddy" he started emulating him instead.
NO worries, mom. Boys, as they say, will be BOYS....
(take a few pictures, though. THAT'S priceless)

Let him wear bracelets and have stuff in his hair He is only trying to be a part of what his sisters are doing, wanting to be a part of their fun. The only thing you should be worried about is your own bigotry and teaching your children how to hate.

Yea..you should be worried to a certain point..He's a boy don't allow him to wear bracelets and hair bows in his hair!
PLEASE..have his father to spend time with him. It's obvious he needs to be around a male figure..Please know..that most started off like this and just progressed..So really you never know. Even the boys that were all boys growing up and now who wants to be all woman..Just never know!

He is just doing what his sisters are doing. Get him around other little boys and he will do what they are doing (by the way the little boys around my area are into choking each other and so my girls have been exposed to this).
