In place of a regular sandwich, you could make a roll up, using a tortilla, cheese and turkey.

My daughter is a creature of habit, so I chage her "menu" every week versus every day.

Her typical lunches are:

PB& Strawberry jam on Whole Wheat
Apple & Eve Juice Box
Single Serve Apple Sauce
Pack of Fruit Snacks

Sliced Chicken
Juice Box
Crackers
Yogurt
A cookie

Sliced Turkey Dog
Juice Box
Blueberries or Strawberrys
A Cookie
Dry Cereal

I am nanny here are some of our lunches,

Pasta salad, we use noodles, cumumbers, onions, tomatoes, and pour in different dressings italian, ranch, vingeratte, etc! And you can add different veggies!

Lunchables-buy at the store

Jelly fish sandwich! It is peanut butter and Jelly cut with a jellyfish cookie cutter!

Tuna salad--Tuna mixed with mayo, eggs, relish, and onion Sometimes we eat it with crackers, other times we use a fish cookie cutter and make fish sandwiches!

Chicken Salad---Chicken breast in a can drained mixed with mayo, grapes cut in fourths, sometimes we use almonds.

Also fruit salad, all kinds of fruit mixed up.

And you have the usually ravolio, spagettia o's. canned things, frozen meals.

Does the daycare heat the food in a microwave or oven. That would help you narrow down you food items. My charges seem to like cold food when it is so hot outside and warmer food in the winter and fall. The best of Luck

I work at a daycare and I've seen a cornicopia of wierd stuff that kids like! My daughter loves cheese sticks, go-gurts (especially if mom freezes them so they are still cold), fruit cups, carrots and dip, frozen waffles (toasted before you pack them of course) raw pea pod and green beans, and hot soup in a thermos on a cold day. Your daycare will probably refridgerate milk for you so she can have that, or buy 100% juice juice boxes. You can pretty much pack anything you'd normally feed her for lunch on a weekend at home.

without looking at anyones answers on here. I would pack my 2 year old kids lucnch with different things each day.

One day I would pack a sandwich(cut out with cookie cutters) like bologna and cheese. some raw carrots (about 10) and a banana.

sooo sandwich, banana, and raw carrots.

Ohh and not sure how you are doing things..but you sh ould not give your under 3 year old child popcorn because simply for the choking factor!!

carrot, celerey sticks
cheese (cubes or slices)
popcorn(no salt) cheap, great and healthy!
biscuits with vegemite on them
sandwich with cheese, salad if they eat it, meat,
sometimes if appropriate i use dnner leftovers in sandwiches
cut up apple, pear
grapes, strawberries
small yoghurt tubs

dont give prepacked snacks, they are so unhealthy... keep chocolates and sweets at home... (dont get them into the habit of expecting unhealthy treats as tehy will never eat the good things you pack)

only ever give water in a bottle

in warmer months pack an icepack withthe lunchbox to keep foods from goign bad

Can the daycare heat up lunches for you? My daycare does since the only day I bring my son a lunch is days he cannot eat the current menu. They keep a package of hotdogs for him. How about cold mini pizza? dry cereal? cut up melons?

My son who is just over 2-1/2, loves these following healthy snacks! Hope you can use some for in your daughter's lunches!

Tortilla(soft taco shells) spread with any of the following: Re-fried beans with cooked chicken slices and shredded cheese! (you can even use fresh smashed Avacoda's)

Tortilla's with banana's cut long ways.., spread with peanut butter!

Tortilla's, with American Cheese and Turkey breast Deli meat!(Sara lee or Honeysuckle being the best)

Small Sized Pita Pocket(Kangaroo POuches, big as a tennis ball) Fill with Turkey and cheese and lettuce

Pita's filled with turkey cheese and a premade Hummus! (hummus is VERY healthy)

Pita's filled with peanut butter and banana's and raisins.(These Pitas also come in Whole Wheat) You now can buy indiviual servings of JiF peanut butter, great for lunches> cant find at local food store, try the famousWal-mart! PIc up a box of Honey Maid, Grahamn Crackers too..YummY! Perfect for getting the right serving size and little hands to grab!

Cheese sticks, yogurt in small cotianer or yogurt's to GO, freshfruit and granola with yogurt!(blueberries. strawberries, cantaloupe and even raspberries)
At Walmart you can also find in the cooler section of the Produce, prepacked baby carrots with Fat Free Ranch dip and also sliced Yellow Apples with Plain yogurt dip, affordable and healthy!
Of course you have to enclude the well loved Dora the Explorer 100% real fruit , fruit gummie snacks!
They now also have out Whole Grain Cookies..(chip o hoy, i believe)
these are good for lunches cause you dont really have to worry about the food being to cold to stay freash...except for the tukey and the yogurt of course!
For Drinks try : Capri sun pouches, my sun loves the strawberry kiwi and Coastal Flavors...The new WaVEs, are Made with Flavored Water.... and tast just like the Sugar filled juices...Dont need to be Refridgerated! ( A Plus )

Good Luck with the day care and luncheS!

Amy

Pack what she eats now for lunch.

Avoid refined flour and sugar of course.

I think I would find a different daycare.Daycare is already expensive you would think lunch and snacks would be covered in the price they charge.
