My neice is to young for school, but she is extremly smart. She knows her abc, how to count, her left from wright, how to write her letters, spells her own name. Things like that. I dont want the fact that she is smart to go to waste, but i am not her parent so i cant put her in head start. Are there any activities that I can do with her that will teach her and she'll be able to have fun to. She wants to read so i want to practice that with her too! ALl advice appreciated. Thank you

When he's in the bath, while I'm changing his diaper...whenever he's naked, he grabs himself and doesn't let go. I'll watch him to see if it's because it's bothering him, but he seems ok. He just seems to love touching himself. I suppose it means everything is working ok down there. I've just never seen another baby that focused on his penis like that. My older son barely noticed his own when he was that age. I supposes it's normal. He is a male after all! Anyone else experience this?

My baby's pediatrician told me it was suppose to be 5 cc every 8 hours but the pharmacist told me that was an adult dose. For my baby it was suppose to be 1.5 cc. I call the pediatrician again but she insisted it was 5cc. On another occasion she prescribe 4 cc every 6 hours. Please tell me how much should I give my baby?

My little girl is 4yrs old, she knows the ABC's well and can write them all on paper, she can also spell and sound out words, she likes to read to me at bed time.
She is just barely too young to go to kindergarten but i think she'd do fine... but i dont know what other 5yr olds are doing... so to the parents i ask... is my daughter advanced enough to try to get her into school a year early???

My son is 13 months old, he did not sit up until 10 and a half months. Last month I took him to a paediatricain who said that he would probably devlop later than average and he would look at him again at 18months and if he wasnt walking then would refer to physiotherapist. I am very concerned though. He can now sit up perfectly and can stand holding a coffee table. However, he cant pull himself up yet. He gets into crawling postion but doesnt move. He doesnt clap hands or wave, and when I try and walk him holding hands he very rarely moves his feet. Other than that he is in very good health and is a happy little boy, but I am very concerned over this and wondered if anyone has experienced similar things or could offer advice.
Thank you

Or is this a little bit of special behavior? I have never heard of such a young child doing this. He also says "BLESS YOU" when anyone sneezes.

My son is three, and at a new daycare. He does great with peeing in the potty, but daily he seems to poop in his underwear. We have tried EVERYTHING we can think of, but he just won't poop in the potty except maybe once every 2 weeks. I'm ok with him taking his time, but the problem is that he has to be in daycare, and all daycares here require them to be potty trained at age 3. I'm concerned the daycare is going to have a real problem if he continues to poop in his underwear most days. I need advice... help! We just don't know what to do if they say he can't be in that class.

I posted a question reguarding my toddler. I was checking my email and ran acroos this site. I figured I would post a question I had and answer afew. The answers I got were terrible I was told my toddler was "retarded" and various other answers. I thought this was about helping people not insulting them. What did that accomplish by insulting a child? My son is not retarded he was very sick at birth and barely lived. He is a bit behind and wanted to check with other moms to see where there children were at. If you feel better to insult my baby you are a sad person. Thank you to the people who gave me ther beautiful stories and words of advise I am grateful. I guess my question is? Is this what this site is like a place for people to insult others? Because I dont think im coming back I would rather pay a visit fee to the doctar for my questions.
