Oh let me tell you, our oldest son, just at that age of about one year old and up, found his penis to be quite amazing and he used to play with it, touch it, and squish it all up together. It was to the point where I even asked other parents too and also to the pediatrician as I was afraid he was hurting himself or his future, lol, in some way. Rest assured, that it is all normal stuff. Boys find out about their penis and what it feels like and explore, at varying ages. So don't worry about it! Amazing how in the same household, kids can be so different right? Our second son never did anything like that at our oldest son's age either. Both guys are doing fine now!!!LOL AMEN! Oh the best is yet to be............

As cute as this is now I'd give it a few years and see how focused he is with it when he turns 3 -5. If there is still that consistant attention on his penis then I would suggest speaking to a doctor. On the other hand it's just the the afact he's 1 and has discovered his bodies personal fun ride. I wouldn't be to concerned with it yet.
Good luck and keep some pants on that lad.

That is normal, because my little girl which is 9 months old touches herself when I give her a bath or change her diaper. My son which is 2 grabs his penis also but I believe they do it just because it is their and it looks interesting. My little boy discovered when it was time to potty by looking and feeling his self he became aware of the feeling you have when you pee and he potty trained his self. So in a way it is a good thing.

Every child is different. Don't think that a one year old enjoys touching himself. That is disgusting, one year olds are the prime innocence, they don't know any better. I am sure it is just something new to him and he cannot quite grasp what it is. I can honestly say that it is not a sexual thing.
When my brother was 2 years old he was taking a bath, looked down and asked "How did that get there?" It's something new. As kids grow and develop, they discover new things about themselves. When I was 3 years old, I remember feeling my heartbeat and wondering what that was, I remember discovering that my chest and stomach move up and down as I breathe and I started asking questions.
It's just a great and natural part of development and discovery
Discourage him from doing that though.

It's perfectly normal, just the beginning of a life long fascination with his penis. lol I raised two sons and at times when they were small and were getting a little carried away in public I did try to distract them with making a fuss. Don't worry, He's fine.

My son is 6 months old and he is already trying to grab at his. Most of the time he tries when I am cleaning him up. I think it is just a male thing to do, and he is most likely just getting a feel for his own body.

I used to have the same exact problem. Its kind of funny, but he gets tired of it and then when he gets older he forgets about it and starts thinking about other things. But how old is your older son? You might wanna be sure that he doesnt become a perv like other guys and make sure that he doesnt start thinking only of girls. Tell him and teach him to think more about education, sports, and all those kinds of things.
