When the little man says that he's got to do certain bodily functions and laugh, it's time to train him. What you can do is take him to the potty about 10 minutes after he's eaten, before nap(put a pull up on him!), after nap, before bed, and in the morning when he gets up. Try those new pull ups from Huggies("I'm a big kid now"!)with the liner that tell him that he has to go. And make him feel proud when he goes(that'll boost his confidence even more!). With patience and practice, he'll be going to the potty like a big man! Buy a potty chair this week and give it a shot. Don't scare him with it, but just give him a brief intro and tell him that this is gonna help him to use the potty. Good luck and happy "pottying"!

My son will be two August 16 and he is already potty trained. But it is up to the child and how the parent reacts to the situation. Because my oldest was 2 1/2 before she was ready. So if you are patient with your child give them time and you will know when they are ready.

Well I would see if you could assess if he is developmentally ready. Is he bothered by a wet diaper? Does he go pee pee or tell you that he is going in his diaper, run and go and get another one? Does he say, "I don't like wet diapers or I don't want poopoo in my pants?" For if he is not bothered by any of these things, and walks around like all is still right in his world, no matter what, then a BIG SIGN that he is not ready!!!! It's not worth the struggle to begin potty training, if they aren't ready at all. You can however, talk to him, tell him when he has a full diaper, what is in this? Is it peepee? One day you're going to be such a big boy that wears big boy unnies, and you're going to go on the potty! Or if he watches you or your husband go to the bathroom, tell him what's happening so he'll begin to get the idea. However, if he is more interested in playing with his toys, having his ba-ba's, and wanting to take naps? Then I would wait another 6 months or so, trust me, when he is ready, oh you'll know!!! In the meantime, no reason to stress over it. I tell people that amazingly all kids go into kindergarten, with no diapers, bottles, pacifiers, or blankies. It all happens!!!! Enjoy whatever stage he is at, I know, for sure some days/nights better than others!!! : )

It depends largely on the child... My first born son I attempted to potty train at the age of 2, but he obviously wasn't ready, so I put it off for a year and by that time he caught on really quickly... My daughter, on the other hand, decided for herself at the tender age of 1 and a half that she didn't care for soiled pants and demanded for me to take her to the toilet! No kidding! At any rate, if you try it and it's a real hassel, just put it off for a while and when the time is right they will show it in their response.

Two is a perfect age to start trying. Definitely not too early. Just give it a try and see if he shows an interest. Start a routine where he sits on the potty for a short period each day. I started with my older son when he was two....and then we stopped and started until he finally made an effort and learned to go on his own. This wasn't until he was 3! Kids learn at different ages, but you won't know until you start trying.

Try putting him on the potty a couple of times and see if there's an interest. If not, wait a couple of weeks. Then try again.

When he is able to hold it and see that he's about to be a big boy now and you tell him that other boy's his age love to potty on the pot he might just wanna act the ame way you kust gotta give him some time to adapt.

if he's ALMOST 2 than thats a lil early. i think about 2 and half to 3 is a perfect age. they have to be old enough to physically tell u that they need to go to the potty and old enough to hold it in a minute if you aren't near one. good luck
