My baby's pediatrician told me it was suppose to be 5 cc every 8 hours but the pharmacist told me that was an adult dose. For my baby it was suppose to be 1.5 cc. I call the pediatrician again but she insisted it was 5cc. On another occasion she prescribe 4 cc every 6 hours. Please tell me how much should I give my baby?

If I were you I would call another pharmacist and another Pediatrician to verify dosage information. I tried to find the info on-line, but every site says Dr.'s determine the dosage. If your doctor prescribed 4cc last time and 5 cc this time, it's probably because your baby is bigger now, they go by weight when deciding how much baby's should get. Just to be safe, call around and find out what other pharmacist's and Dr.'s say. You don't don' t want to give her too little or it would be pointless to even give it to her, and obviously you don't want to overdose her. Good Luck.

You should most definitely get a second opinion. Any pharmacist would know the answer to that. Pharmacists are generally better at answering dosing questions than doctors are b/c they work with medicine every single day. If you're even in a situation where it's the middle of the night, go to cvs.com and look up a 24hr CVS and call their pharmacy. the pharmacists are there to help you with questions like this one. When in doubt, go with the smaller dose and then find out later if you need to give your baby more. You don't want to risk making her more ill.

PLEASE_____FOLLOW THE PHARMACISTS INSTRUCTIONS!!ESPECIALLY IF IT IS THE LESSER DOSAGE (WHICH USUALLY IS!! bUT ASK TWO DIFFERENT PHARMACISTS!! Doctor's offices do make mistakes! And your childs safety is A FIRST PRIORITY!! Just be sure to call your pediatricians because they usually have an emergency contact #on thier recording to let them know what is going on.....You should get a call back quickly if they are good!
