Or is this a little bit of special behavior? I have never heard of such a young child doing this. He also says "BLESS YOU" when anyone sneezes.

It's normal. My 12 month old granddaughter does the same thing.

Your son is almost 2 years old. If he's bringing you a diaper when he needs to be changed. Then you need to start potty training him. There's really nothing to think about here. Every time you or your husband go to the bathroom take him. I'll suggest buying his favorite character in underwear and pulls up. Let him know that's what big boys wear when they go potty. Just be consistent and work with him.

It's never too early to start teaching your child to be respectful of others and have manners. This is the best age..So each time he says bless you. Tell him thank you. It's no big deal..He's on the right track! Today, parents neglect to teach their children manners and to be respectful of others. That's the problem!

some people tend to do things earlier than others like my son walked when he was 9 months old. It is normal for a child to say diaper at 1 1/2 because at 2 they should be saying 2 word sentences. Therefore your child is running at a normal rate.

Okay first every child has heard of the human centipede so many say that they've watched it when they got freaked by the trailer. It's not suitable for a child of 10 it's an 18 for a reason. And it may affect your child's mental health state and development more than you may think. I wouldn't recommend anyone watch it let alone a 10 year old

Why worry about whether such obviously bright behavior is normal? Now, if he was sticking the diaper on his head and running around the house screaming "ka ka" you might have a problem.

I think it is adorable. He sounds very bright for his age. Children used to be potty trained at 18 months of age but everyone has stopped doing it so early now. I hate seeing 3 year olds going around still in diapers. I don't think that will happen to your little guy.

well, i do know of a little boy, that did that as well, and whne he started to do that not just on ocassion, but a lot, that is when they started to potty train him. I can't say that he was only 1 1/2, but he was young. If he knows he needs a changing he is old enough to start potty traing. but for many parents, it is harder on them to have apotty trained child, and you may be the same way. but boys are harder to train ,so you could start early. well at least he say bless you. he is a smart boy, but take it to the next level. good luck.

This is normal. He knows when he needs a new diaper, and instead of waiting for you to change it, he brings it to you. He sounds likes he may be ready to begin the potty training process.
See Below for tips.

He says "Bless you", because he hears others say it after a sneeze.

All children develop at different ages and stages. There is no need to concern yourself. Seems like a bright, average child.

Try getting him some training pants, cloth or disposable, and a potty seat. Research some sites about potty training.

Tips for potty training:
1. Purchase a potty seat (or 2). Place one seat in the area that your child most often plays (Place the 2nd in the bathroom). This allows your child to become familiar with the seat. Let him play with it and explore it as much as he wants. He needs to feel comfortable with the seat.

2. Tell him that this potty seat is his own seat. Allow him to sit on it fully clothed. Allow him to leave the seat any time he wants. Do not force him to sit on it or to play with it. Do not use it as a time out chair.

3. After he has become used to the potty seat and sits on it regularly with his clothes on, have him try it without his pants or diaper on.

4.Allow him to go to the bathroom with you, show him and tell him about the big toilet. Tell him the pee & poop goes here. Allow him to flush the toilet and watch the waste water go down the hole.

5. Next, show him how the potty seat is used. Place stool from his dirty diaper in the seat. Then tranfer it to the big potty and let him flush it. Allow him to observe closely.

6. Once he is comfortable with the potty seat and with flushing the toilet, it is time to begin teaching him to use the potty seat. (Helps if the father or other male will help with this).
Observe your child closely for signs that he is fixing to urinate or have a bowel movement. Place him on the seat when you see signs of facial expression, he stops his activity for a moment or every 1-1 1/2 hours. Most children have bowel movements about an hour after eating and urinate about an hour after a large drink.

7. Put loose clothing on your child and/or traning pants. Let him pull these off by himself. Let him help putting them back on. Show him that he needs to pull them down to sit on the potty and pull them up when he's done.

8. Stay with him when he's on the potty seat. He may want privacy, you can stand just outside of the open bathroom door, where you can peek in on him. You don't want him to get into something, or to get hurt or to play in his own waste or the toilet.
Reading or talking to your child may help him relax.
Praise him for when he goes in the potty seat, but do not express disappointment if he does not go in the potty. Just tell him that maybe next time he will go in the potty seat. Stickers make good rewards for going potty.

8. It may take up to 3 months. Be Patient and supportive. Do not punish him for accidents.
If he isn't trained in the 3 month period, or doesn't seem interested right now, wait a couple of months and try agian. Some children aren't ready until they are 2-3 years old. If your child still hasn't started using the potty by 3, consult your Doctor.

Not all kids do it but sorry your child isn't Mensa material. A lot of toddlers bring their parents their diapers when it's changing time...you might want to start putting him on the potty since he seems to recognize when he needs to be changed.

Congratulations! You are bringing up a fine and well-mannered boy. Ofcourse it's not normal for him to bring you the diaper, but it sure is nicer then having him scream when he want's it changed. And saying bless you..... that's so nice (and cute). Continue what your doing and best of luck!
