He is just overheated. Unless it's only been a recent thing, then I would get it checked out. But if he's always been like that, he's just hot natured. My daughter gets sweaty alot at night, so I don't dress her in thick clothes, and I keep it cool in her room.

My kids 9 and 3 years and almost 6 months always woke/wake up hot and sweaty. Maybe he has to many blankets. If the hotness and sweat goes away after a bit I wouldn't worry about it. If it last longer than go to the doctor.

I hate to answer with a question, but is he drinking plenty? Urinating regularly and it is a good light color? Just to be safe, don't let him get too hot if possible.

Both of my sons with my 2nd husband are like this, doesn't matter temp of room, pj's, blankets, no blankets, doctor said it's a metabolism thing and as long as I know they are getting plenty of liquids and are generally healthy, don't worry.

Because small children always get warmer during sleep. He will cool down once he's awake.
