well I believe in consistancy and a firm hand. If your toddler is getting up when they should be sleeping, pick them up and put them back in their bed. Continue to do this till the child wears themselves out. There might be crying but after a few days of it, they will be going to bed in their bed without problems.
If its an issue with keeping them in their beds during the middle of the night, I tend to go in a lay down with mine just long enough to ease them. If they get out again, I explain to them its not time to get up, and then place them back in bed. Again, after a couple nights, they will stop.
Good luck with it!

If you don't mind, can you add some more details about your situation? I don't understand what you mean. Is your toddler doing something during his/her sleep or are you having a hard time getting your toddler to sleep? Just what is it that you need to rectify? :)

Read "Babywise".
I did after at least five different people recommended it to me... and it worked.
If that doesn't work, take your child to see his/her pediatrician.
Good luck.
