My daughter nursed until she was two and a half years old. She just turned four and I can still get a drop or two out by squeezing on them. I hear that for some women that's normal many years after their children have weaned.

However, the pain that you described sounds like a typical early sign of pregnancy. Women have been known to lactate early on in their pregnancies. So, go out and take a pregnancy test right away. If it comes back negative check again in a couple of weeks just to make sure that it isn't too early to show a positive. Though I would guess that you are further than two weeks along if you are experiencing these symptoms. If it turns out that you are *not* pregnant and not taking any hormonal birth control I would talk to your physician so you can rule out any other problems or changes with your body.

If you decide to breastfeed with baby #2 just make sure that you take the time to educate yourself beforehand and find a good lactation consultant to make the transitition & learning curve easier. After all, if you can make it work that's a lot of money that you aren't spending on formula! :)

Anyhow, whatever the outcome I wish you and your family good luck and good health!!! Take care!!!

My suggestion would be to take a pregnancy test first. If it's negative, make a doctor's appointment. It could be nothing, but it may not be milk that is coming out and could be a discharge instead. Meaning you may have an infection, or something more serious as in a cyst or something. Discharge is a major warning sign, although I think you are probably just fine, so take the test, then call the doc. Good Luck!

It is good to breastfeed your son till he reaches 2. The amount of breastmilk varies among women. Some dries up after 2 weeks, some a month but there are others which last more than a year.

If you're in doubt, consult a doctor. As far as I know, breastmilk doesn't turn bad...

I nursed til my daughter was three.

If you never nursed, that could be an absist? I dont know what exactly it's called, but it's a pocket of milk stuck in a gland and can become very very sore/tender.

ask your doctor or go to a clinic, they'll know exactly what to do..

also, try putting hot presses on your boobies.. it definately helps to soothe any pain and dislodge any pockets of milk left over, until you can get to a doctor..

Go to a doctor if you're unsure.

My mom's friend however breastfed her son until he was 4.

Yeah, youre pregnant. You would not get breastmilk from your first child unless you were still nursing him.
