All the time- this gives them a longer span to be in the clothes. You pay lots of money for them anyway. I paid about 10 dollars for my 5 year old's shirt, but that day, I found a whole dress for me on sale for 10 dollars. Something isn't right here.....

Yes!! a lot of the clothes will work throughout the seasons, so it works well. If it won't work (like a tank top that will fit them when its winter) purchase it in their size for the next year. Try online as well. My two favorite places are Children's Place and Old Navy. I pick out what I like for them online. It saves it in my "bag" since I have an online account set up. You can then stop by now and then to watch your subtotal drop each time something goes on sale. It sounds kind of odd, and sometimes things go out of stock. But, buying for a 2 year old and a 9 month old I save A LOT of money and a lot of time. You can also get online codes to save 15% off of Children's place items when you register with their site.

Most definitely...end of season sales are fantastic! I also like eBay...might not be brand new, but I have got designer pieces that have hardly been worn for under $5. It is just a case of looking around! Kids grow so fast, it seems silly to spend a fortune on clothes, but at the same time, I don't want my daughter looking like 'Little Orphan Annie'!!

Absolutely! Like the end of the summer, I'll be buying summer clothes that go on clearance that will fit my son next summer. I've already bought all his winter clothes in the last few months! It's SOO much cheaper that way. I can get whole outfits at like, Babies R Us or Target for a dollar or two, it's wonderful!

MY mother on the other hand, has to have the NAME brand and pays RETAIL hardly ever on sale!!! THEN she complains that clothes cost too much!!! LOL
MY sister-in-law is the queen of the Boogie Basement Bargain Specials!!! She gets things really cheap!!!
My in-laws taught my 3 kids the value of the Thrift Store, Goodwill and Salvation Army!!! They KNOW they get MORE bang for their BUCK!!!

Definitely! the worst thing would be to buy something without your child around and when you try it on at home, it barely fits. most children nowadays wear big clothes (at least the boys do) so they're actually "in style" :)
besides, whats the point of getting something he'll only be able to wear for such a short period of time. that's such a waste of good money

I've given up on that, because it never works out for me. I picked up some things when she was younger, and she hasn't gotten to wear them. Either it fits, but not during the right season, or she has outfits she can't wear together because the shirt fits, but the bottoms are too big because she is smaller around the waist than the clothes are for her age.

Do it all the time...then they can get some wear out of it...MY son was wearing 12 months when he was 3 months...(he was 24" long when born) so there wasn't much roll up...but he got a good 6-8 months wear out of them...pants are great ...they have the tightening elastic in them as well...

ALL the time. I wait for the end of the season and buy all of next years clothes at 70% off. How do you think I can afford to stay home if I didn't bargain shop! Ha, Ha!!;-)

Yes, but only a few for each child, my daughter has a big growth spurt one year and skipped a size, so I had a whole wardrobe full of clothes that she never got to wear!
