we've been happy with it. Today, though, the school informed us that tomorrow morning, there will be a local t.v. channel that will be filming in their classroom for a show on the channel that's called "the changes' which is a reality t.v. series that grants people in the movie industry a chance at fulfilling their dreams. In this case, there's a local actress who always wanted to be a pre school teacher. I told the school that it would probably be ok with us to allow our kid to join tomorrow, given they provide us with the ff info: 1. who this actress is, 2.) what she does in the showbusiness, precisely. So the school gave us details that we requested. I loked up these people on the internet, and I found out that the 'actress' is actually a sex-dancer and has been a sex- dancer since the age of thirteen! And the two hosts of the show are pornography-workers. I was so upset and gave them a piece of my mind. Was I wrong to do so?

I mean...it's a pre school, for crying out loud! It beats me why any pre school would want to associate themselves with such a t.v. show! the filming isn't beneficial to our child, at all! They just need the free advertising!

U-P-D-A-T-E! The school has cancelled it's participation in the t.v. show! Apparently because of me! Just a few hours after I posted my question here, they called all the parents to let us know that they cancelled their participation with the show. So, what I did really paid off! I guess at first they just didn't think that the parents would care enough to find out about what the show is all about, but when they realized that I did, and took the matter into my own hands (I really told them off) they must have thought that maybe I would go ahead and take more drastic measures which could end up in their losing license. It's a franchis school, I was actually going to contact the head school about it, I guess they realized that. Well, thank God! School today went on as normal, with no porn stars in the vacinity. :-)

From a parent and preschool teacher's perspective, this is appalling. Your child's school is bound to provide a safe and secure place for your child to be. They should have done a little more investigating and been a little less concerned with being on TV. If you were able to do a search so quickly, the administration should have been able to as well. I don't endorse the porn industry, but I do believe people should have the ability to try to change their pasts. However, a preschool is not the area to do this in! Your child's school made a bad judgement call, and I would definitely let them know it! Perhaps a call to the local licensing agency and a complaint will send an effective message. You were not wrong to give them a piece of your mind... I certainly would have! Protecting your child comes first, and it should have been first in your child's preschool's mind too.

My son would be pulled out of that school immediatly!

For a preschool to allowed sex dancers and porn stars into an area with young children would show me they don't really care about my son or the other children there at all.

I would also make sure every single other parent was area of who the actress was and exactly what type of people were going to be interacting with their children that day.

I would have given them a piece of my mind. I would have called the school district, the newspaper and made sure it was publicly aware what this preschool had intentions of doing.

That is not something I would take lightly at all.

That is terrible. I would be pulling my child out of a place that would allow people like this to come into a pre-school.
What they do as adults is there business but I can't believe your kinder would allow it. If they allow this what other things do they let happen

That sounds terrible, was the school aware of their exact profession before agreeing to do so? I would definitly not be having my child in that classroom for the day.. and I would demand more details on the show and the reason they agreed to it.

They are SO LIABLE for any damage. I'd either keep my kid home, or be there with her. (I was a single dad of a little girl) They have open cams at pre-schools now also, so you can watch your child at the pre-school. Don't put your child in an awkward situation, either be there, or keep your child at home that day.

Not at all - You are paying for your childs school and you dictate who will teach your children and who is in contact with our children. Even if I am progressive, I don't accept others not disclosing fully. I would also be upset in such a scenario.

thats shocking, I would certainly keep my child away and give the school a piece of my mind. I would also consider moving schools.

No you weren't wrong to do so. I would have done the same.
I can't believe the school considered taking them on. What were they thinking?
