She knows the whole routine of going potty, she just won't do it. At the most inconveinient times (such as camping) she will stay dry, but at home she is always wetting herself, and frequently soiling herself as well. It is SO FRUSTERATING! I have heard of the 1 day method, but I don't think that it would help with her because she is already halfway there- she just been stuck half way there for about 6 months.

It seems as though he's not even taken an interest in it yet. He knows what the potty is. I brought him to the store with me and he picked out his own potty. I work full time and its difficult for me to be consistant. Diapers to briefs and briefs to diapers. When I try to sit him on the toilet he only sits there for a minute and gets up and says "all done" then flushes. But he doesnt really go. I dont want to make him sit there for too long because he doesnt seem to like it and I dont want him to resent the toilet. I've tried him on the regular toilet. I've tried leaving him naked on the weekends when im not working, Im getting kinda frustrated but I'm not pushing him. His grandmother tells me that he uses the potty at her house sometimes and she doesnt do anything different. His cousin 6 months younger than him is potty trained already and there real close almost like brothers. I mean he never even did it once 4 me So..... how long should I wait before thinkings there's a problem.

She is four...now last week I caught her scrubbing her privates with a back scrubber....I told her that it was bad for her to do that that it could her hurt her...she said "Mommy I got to clean it really good", so I explained to her again that she need to just light wash down there with a wet rag.

Well she did it again about 3 days later, and I just thought, well she is very hard headed....there was no real damage, so I put some corn starch powder on it ...she was better by the end of the day.

Well this morning, before she went with my mother to a doctor for her ears, she told me that her privates hurt. I asked you know if it burned (she if she had a UTI) or if it itched (to see if she has a yeast infection since she is on antibiotics), she said no to everything. I asked her if someone was touching her and she saif yes, that a boy at her school was, and he would hurt her if she told.
My mom does not believe her, she said not to say anything, but I am taking her to the doctor

My daughter is 14 months, she had 8 front teeth and 4 molars, and hates when i brush her teeth. I have to hold her down and brush them while she is screaming... I try to do this atleast once a day. Should I be more thorough? How much should I worry about brushing her teeth? Thanks!

I myself am not a mom, but i do help to raise my 2 year old nephew. Ever since he turned 2 in March he has gotten into the habit of playing with his private parts when he's in the bath tub, my question is if this is normal? My mom and older sister (his mom) tell him that behavior is gross, but i fear that he will learn to think his body is gross if he is told that touching his genitalia, a part of his body obviously, is gross. Am i wrong to think that? Should i tell him touching hid genitals is bad and gross when i see him doing it? Or should i just let him? Is it normal behavior?

my son has a congenial heart defect. he is now 16 months old. well tonight while eating he passed out. or at least that's what it seemed like to me. first i shook him gently then i lightly tapped his cheeks and that woke him. then just a few minutes later i took him to change his diaper and he passed out or fell asleep again. i have woken him every hour just to be sure and when he stay up everything seems noraml now. do you think the i am over reacting or could this be a sign that his heart is giving him trouble?

also if anyone knows what the normal heart and pule rate is for a child of 16 months i would really appreciate it. I had it in paper work and it is missing now.

My son will be 3 on Halloween and he currently has a booster seat in the car and he currently is at 38lbs. (gosh don't they grow like weeds?) Do I need to buy another one? or does anyone know what kind of booster seat I need to buy at this point? I don't remember what the weight limitations for his cosco car seat is but I think it was up to 40lbs. Please help me find a new one because I don't want him hurt and also? Are they all 5 point harness ones? Is this a choice or a law? If anyone can suggest any car seats? and what kind would you suggest? how many lbs are are they up to after that? I thought after the infant seat I would only have to buy this one...which is a booster seat...I think I am wrong!

Anyone that can help would be soooo greatly appreciated...trying to protect my son soo please help me!!!

Ohh and also money isn't an issue cause any car seat that will keep my son safe I will purchase!! Please Help!!!

My children are 4 (10/01) and 3 (6/03), I am trying to teach them proper nutrition and boundries. Every single time I turn my back for even a second ( I can't even leave them alone long enough to go to the bathroom) they are in to something they shouldn't be, ie,: fruit snacks, freezie pops, trying to sneak out the front door, trying to get into the medicine cabinet, trying to play with my ipod, camcorder, camera, taking things apart, torturing the cat or dog. I feel as though it is never ending. I have tried many things. I used to think that it was just an attention isssue. But I am a stay at home mom and if they were to get any more of my attention, I would forget to breathe. It is especially hard this summer. We just put up a fence and a swing set and a sandbox and I have to fight with them to go in the back yard! They don't watch too much T.V., we spend tons of time with them. They are given healthy treats (popcicles, yogurt parfaits, fruit cups..). What can I do to improve this?

My three year old has started complaining of headaches. He has no nausea or vomitting. Nothing else seems to be wrong. The only thing I can tell is that he started complaining of it since we have cable. (so he is watching slightly more tv) He isn't close to the set, but maybe he needs glasses? The whole family has horrible eyes, but daddy has chronic migraines so I am worried.

We have a 2 1/2 yr old foster son. He is great usually but when family or company comes over he just becomes wild! He jumps on the furniture, runs thru house, etc. I tell him he needs to settle down, walk not run, play with a specific toy, watch a video, or sit and talk with us, but two seconds later he is doing it all over again. Any suggestions from other veteran toddler parents?? Thanks!

I would like to hear real accounts from parents whose child takes ADHD meds. My son, who is 4 1/2, was just diagnosed with ADHD. He is an exceptioanlly smart and gifted child for his age. He exhibits many of the common signs of ADHD. After much soul searching and advice from 2 of his daycare teachers, I had him tested. I know what the Dr. says, but I want to know experiences from parents. I have seen it make kids a zombie and also help. This is the last resort in a long line of different ways to deal with his behavior and I am examining all angles of treatment. First hand accounts would be very helpful. Thank you!!!

I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and a 3 1/2 year old son. If you have children of similar ages and you have taken them to see the movie Cars, can you please tell me how it went? Did the movie captivate their interest or was it a little over their head? Thank you!

She had learned (from being sick recently) that if she throws-up in her crib we will come into her room and rescue her ie:change the sheets, clothes etc. Everytime we lay her down she starts to cough and actually makes herself puke!! It is the strangest thing. She just works herself up so much and we are at our wits end!!
