Is S/he on any other medications?
I could not find side effects that cause misbehaving or giggling a lot.
PULMICORT TURBUHALER is used to treat asthma in adults and children 6 years of age and older.
IF you have concerns about any medication call the pharmacy where you get it and ask the pharmacist.
PULMICORT TURBUHALER is not a bronchodilator and should not be used to treat acute, or sudden, asthma attacks.
Common side effects with PULMICORT TURBUHALER include respiratory infection, headache, oral candidiasis (thrush in the mouth), pharyngitis (sore throat), voice alteration (hoarseness), and sinusitis.

These medications are stimulants, and stimulants open airways. So, yes that's what is causing it.
My daughter had to go to the ER once, and get a breathing treatment..she was very young (like 8 months old) so I had her sitting on my lap...and the medication from the inhaler was making me laugh.
So, don't worry. He'll probably get used to it, and calm down when he takes it.

my son is an ashtmatic too, and he never has issues with the pulmicort at home. But when he has to be in the hospital, he gets really hiped up. They tell me it is the nebulizer meds. Dunno! He just sounds like a four year old!
