My daughter is two yrs old and currently uses a carseat with a bar that comes down. However, she is getting to tall for it.Her pediatrician has told me that she is 95%taller than kids her own age and thus her weight is alittle more too.Is a booster seat, without straps, safe for her age?If not, what would you recommend??I have 4 kids but all my children are older and laws weren't as strick nor were they as tall as she is.I would like anyone with experience w/children/toddlers to answer this.THANKS!!

At 2 years old, your daughter is far too young to sit in just a booster seat without a harness. You don't state her weight or height, but she is too big for her current car seat if she is over 40# or her shoulders are above the top slots. If she is one of these, or approaching one of these, you need to find a seat that can harness her to a higher limit. Most standard high back booster seats with the internal harness that the other posters are referring to, only go to 40# and are not much taller than a standard seat, so I suspect your daughter would be too big for these as well. The only one that goes to 40# that is taller than average is the Graco Cargo Series. The best thing is to take her to the store and try her in several to see where she is in terms of height . Know her weight beforehand as well, as most of these seats only go to 40 # in the harness and then convert to boosters until 80-100 pounds, but she needs to be in a harness as long as possible. Most kids are not ready for a dedicated booster until they are at least 4 years old. Other seats out there that are good in the harness until 65 # are the Cosco Apex, Britax Marathon, Decathalon, Wizard or Boulevard, and the Britax Regent goes to 80# in the harness.
Good Luck and check www.seatcheck.org to find a certified tech near you that can help you install it.

I have a large two year old too, but they still need secure and safe carseats as they do not have the muscle strength a older child does. Go to BabiesRUs.com and they have a wide selection with reviews from users. The bar carseat is not a safe choice any longer. I would choose a five point buckle that convertst to a booster so you have that when it is needed.

Go to Wal-Mart of fav. discount store of choice and get the high back booster that has straps with 5 point harness that also converts into seatbelt booster! I think the one I have for my 2 year old is called voyager and it was only around 50.00 This is worth your money because they can use it longer!

The courts have no sympathy for in basic terms the impression of alcohol drivers. I doubt the court docket could additionally evaluate the indisputable fact that the two-three hundred and sixty 5 days previous replaced into no longer strapped in. the nice and comfortable button is that this: if the nineteen three hundred and sixty 5 days previous wssn't using under the impression of alcohol, the twist of fate by no skill could have occurred. In different words, the only reason the daddy no longer strapping the toddler in replaced right into a ingredient is using the fact the nineteen three hundred and sixty 5 days previous replaced into under the impression of alcohol. the nineteen three hundred and sixty 5 days previous can assume a million-2 years of detention center time. that is now vehicular manslaughter.
