Be sure to go to your public library - you'll find lots of books that you treasure from your childhood, as well as lots of new treasures. And the librarians will be very helpful about gettting you a card if you don't have one, and suggesting books that are appropriate for your kids' ages and interests.

Online, you might visit the International Children's Digital Library, at http://www.icdlbooks.org/, where they have scanned versions of a lot of great books. Plus, you can do fun things like search for a book by color and age.

Your local library is free and full of tales you can check out, usually for two weeks at a time. Try this.

Check out your local library website. I just recently found out I can download books from their website to CD or MP3. They have a great selection.
