My 14 month old has started playschool two days a week. She seems to pick up every cold and sniffle that the other children have. I am searching for a way to build up her resistance and immunities to these types of common illnesses.

I am 23 and my husband is 25. We have been together for 5 years and married for 2 years. I finished college, have a great job, and we own a 3 bedroom house. We will have our house paid off in 9 months and then we will have no debt. We are living a comfortable life. We have traveled all over and feel like we have done everything we wanted to do. We are homebodies and don’t feel the need to party or go out and are settled down.

We have been talking about starting our family for a year and know we are ready. I want to have 2 or 3 children and be done at 30. We want to try for a baby now and my mother has figured it out. She thinks 24 years old is too young to be a mother, but we don't. She said I should wait until I am 28 and I am giving up my youth at my age. I think she is bitter because she got pregnant at 18 (dating my father for a YEAR) and divorced at 24. We are trying anyways because its what WE want.

Will her attitude change? Do YOU think 24 is young to have your first baby?

I have a neighbor who I know is beating her 3 young kids. I can hear it going on. I along with a few other neighbors have called the police. Nothing seems to ever be done about it when they arrive. They say that since I can only hear and not see whats going on that all they can do is check on things! Is there anyone I can call besides the police who can investigate this?

I mean like on those overalls or onsies...the ones that usually go up the legs and fasten...it seems all of my kids overalls open way to easy and its very annoying to have to do them up just so they come undone again...and yes they are the right size.

I've found it very helpful, but I'm afraid to admit it to the parents of any of my day care kids - I'm afraid they might not understand. I never give them enough to get them wasted, just enough to take the edge off. Does anyone else do this?

McDonalds, Chuck E Cheese, Discovery Zone Some of you might not be parents, but you may have nieces, nephews, grandschildren. This will pertain to you too. As i read the following, my hart sank. I urge each and every one of you to pass this to as many people as you can. One of my sons los his wach, in a ball pit in one of those places. We dug and Dug in those balls, trying to find the wach. Instread, we found vomit, food, feces and other stuff i do not want to discuss. Talk to manager and they said thay clean it one a month. I don't realy think so.

And other story i heard was that in Mcdonald's one mom took his son for his third birthday. after they ate he with to play at the ball pit. After 10 min of playing he started whining, they asked him what was wrong, he pointed to the backof his pull-up and simply sad "mommy, it hurts." they could it find any thing wrong. Took him to the hospital and they found that a splinter had poked him and soon he died from heroine Overdose.

My ex husband is the father of both of my daughters. We have been divorced for more than two years. In that amount of time, he has gotten behind in child support by $14,000. Through all of that, I never denied him his children. He was allowed to pick them up from school, take them places and spend as much time with them as he wanted. He also never worked. His mother supported him by paying ALL of his bills and giving him spending money. Enough for him to have a wardrobe entirely of "Lucky" brand clothing and 4 BRAND NEW trucks in the 2 years. I on the other hand, live from paycheck to paycheck - often times telling my children that we can't go here or do that because money is too tight. I finally had enough of me doing with out and filed with the OAG fro back child support. Lo and behold he got a job and now they are taking almost 50% of his check. My problem is that now he never wants to see the girls as punishment to me for filing? What can I do to make him want to see the girls?

Do you know any recipes that is very high in fibre that is & looks appetizing for a young child. My child since birth is severely almost everytime constipated & we have gone to the doctors, hospitals... Unblocked (it works but the next day, still constipated), given medication but nothing seems to work (they have given me laxatives too take for months but I am very worried that my child's body will adapt & be dependent of laxatives each time my child needs to go to the bathroom. It's even written on the bottles). Getting the best treatments for constipation but nothing is working. My child's appetite is decreasing & I am getting very worried. I hate & makes me really sad to see my child suffer when my child needs to go. My child is so scared when trying cause it hurts so much. There never small nor soft bowels. I am doing my best to give him as much fluids, fibre & balanced meals as I can. I am wondering if anybody have sincere advice & recipes I can work with that can help my child.

I am considering a job that includes some travel, probably 3x a month. I have 2 small children, 1 & 3.
My husband is totally supportive and completely involved and wonderful. My folks are very helpful too and we have babysitting covered.
This is a great opportunity for me and a great long term job with lots of advancement.
Do any moms travel and hate it?
do any moms travel and love it?

I need help with this decision.
Thank you

But it breaks my heart to see some of the tragic things done against children. This mornings news had a story about a woman who used her 4 week old baby as a weapon to beat her boyfriend. Then they charged her with petty charges.... If you ask me she should have been charged with attempted murder. How do you deal with these stories?

ERIE, Pa. -- A woman used her 4-week-old baby as a weapon in a domestic dispute, swinging the infant through the air and striking her boyfriend with the child, authorities said."The baby was swung at the individual that she was arguing with," Erie 4th Ward District Judge Tom Robie said. The baby was critically injured in the attack early Sunday, said District Attorney Bradley Foulk.Never, never, never. I can never remember anything like this," Foulk told the Erie Times-News.Chytoria Graham, 27, of Erie, was charged with aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and simple assault. She was held Monday in the Erie County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bai

My daughter sat up at 5 and a half months. I know every child is different but isn't 8 months late? When i try to sit him up and let go, he will balance himself for 5 to 30 seconds and then fall either to the side or straight forward. Help!! I even got him the bumba seat to help him!!

I have a 4 1/2 year old with a man I was with for 5 years. we broke up in early 2005. we have been going thru a custody battle for the past 3 months now. i have full custody, she lives with me full time, and she hadn't seen her dad for over a year cause I had a pfa on him (he threatened me several times during the coarse of the breakup, a few in front of her, physically). He broke the pfa several times, and just this past summer I went to court over our daughter. I let him have her 2 hours a day on the weekends, my sister the supervisor. This was a trial run, for a month, and then we had a hearing last week to see if it would be wise for him to have her weekends, and he NEVER showed up!! His mom called and asked where she was over the weekend, and I told her he missed his hearing, and she said he "forgot" the time.

So, what to do? my daughter really could care less whether she sees him (don't talk bad about him to her), and he is bi polar.

FM Listening Systems let teachers talk into a hand-held microphone, which transmits the sound of the teacher's voice directly to a deaf or hard of hearing child's hearing aid. This transmission happens on reserved radio spectrum 216-217 MHz. Many retailers of products for deaf and hard of hearing people carry personal FM systems.
