although we rotate the toys every few weeks I cant help but think my son might become a brat later on in life?
I am not the only mom I know whose kids have tons of toys, almost everyone I know who has kids has shotloads of toys and tons of clothes.
I dont want my kid to be a brat, he isnt now, but how do I prevent it?
I am not going to deprive my child, we arent broke and money isnt the problem and education is already taken care of.
Any ideas?
I want him to be thankful of the life he has, not just expect it.

I've been told over and over again by everyone in my family what a wonderful, well-behaved child I was. I never got in trouble, was always polite, never did anything wrong, etc. Maybe I'm in lala land but I keep imaging my kids will turn out exactly the same lol Just wondering if anyone else has felt this way - and how did it turn out? Do your kids end up behaving pretty much the way you did or no? (Don't worry I'm not going to 'not' love my kid if they aren't 100% like me, I'm not saying that! Of course I'll love my children no matter what)

I have a good job, a nice house, and have been the the only caregiver besides my parents help. He is a bartender, has no steady home, and his car isnt even babysafe, he also drinks. All of a sudden he wants to play daddy. He drank through my pregnancy which created so much stress. I don't feel saft letting him take my daughter out of my sight. He gives me no money to help take care of her. Can you tell me some of the laws.

I was on the motorway at the time and was horrified, i took it back to mothercare today for a refundas it was not safe for my grandson to be in. I was refused a refund they said there was nothing wrong with the seat and that some children do this and it was my responsibility to teach the child it was dangerous. The green arrow was showing which says i have tightened correctly.

Do you think I'm right to ask for the £144.99 back

I went to a car safety ctr and was fitted with another seat.

My granddaughter is 11 and in 6th grade and her Mom made a deal with her that if she was diligent about washing her face and brushing her teeth for two weeks that she could wear a tiny bit of eye shadow and mascara and clear lip gloss. I think it's too young even though she is an exceptionally good kid.

we don't know if we are suppose to ignore it, or disipline. i've heard that by acknowledging his behavior will reinforce it. i don't want him to do this to other kids or family. i don't want to ignore it then it will look like i'm letting him get away with it. we don't like to say No unless it's something life threatening, so we say Uh-uh. ANY advice would be helpful!!!

ok, well my daughter has just given me her report card and she has low grades ( 72 , 83, 84, 83, 90, 94 ) so this weekend she wants to go to a birthday party. should i let her go. and plus she is really sorry and im scared she depressed because of all these things going on at school. she doesnt have much time to talk to me and she doesnt tell me everything that goes on in her life, and i want to know so i can help. i want her to be happy, and by not letting her go to the party she will never learn how to live in a normal teenage social environment and keep her grades up if i ground her from the computer and phone and parties. What should i do for both our sakes

... you're going to be staying home.' I said 'What? I can't afford to do that. Nor do I want to.' Woah did that start a big arguement! She said 'well I did it, it's what's best' and I said 'even if I wanted to, I couldn't, we can't afford that, it's hard nowadays'. She still didn't see my side. But why does she think she has the right to tell me that I have to stay home after having kids? I said 'hey sure, if you're going to pay my mortgage!' - she didn't like that too much! What do you think? How would you respond?

Dear diary,

Yesterday me and mother played a game. She said other people play it too, but I think she made it especially for me! Well to play this game mother locks me in a closet, and sees how long I can go without eating, she tells me not to tell anyone about this game, but I just felt like you guys had to be included on the fun too! One time I lasted the whole weekend, but she seemed disappointed that I had won, but that's just mother being a sore loser. Sometimes we play this other game too, like this one where mother abandons me down town, and she sees how long it takes for me to make it back home safely, it's so much fun. But I am growing weary due the malnutrition, so I think I am going to rest now. See you tomorrow.

My teacher made a big deal about it, and she called my parents and talked to them, and she is the one that told us to be creative and stuff..but there has been no word about me being taken away, but I asked it this way because she made a big deal about it

Now I know in some cases there are no other choices(such as with a single parent). In almost all other cases there are ways to make sure one of you is at home with your kids instead of letting some stranger raise your child. I know what your saying...Yea but we need the money. So change work hours if you have to so that one of you is always home. If you didn't want to raise kids then why the hell did you have them?

My daughter is 26 months old and we plan to move from Ireland to England in January. We are going for approx 2-3 years, returning for her to go to school. I am worried the move will be too stressful for her. I have close family in England but she is very close to my family here in Ireland. Does anyone have any tips for moving with toddlers. Do you think it will have a bad affect on her that will last? Would appreciate any good advice. Thanks

My husband and I are considering the name Xavier but are unsure of how it would be shortened. We're not into nicknames but realize that people tend to shorten names.

His mum has now stopped me from seeing him because I refused to have him overnight at short notice, juut so she could "go out with the girls, of a friday night!" I went to pick him up this morning and she said, "I am not allowed to have him". Does she have the right to do this? If not, what can i do next?
