Both are great, I know a stay at home dad though who puts June Clever to shame. So I guess that blows the theory "that dads can't do what moms do as good" out of the water. It's just more common for moms to stay home. But I can tell you that if I could get a job making more money than my husband I would feel fine leaving him home with the kids. He would not do any better or worse just different.

Well, sorry, but it really does depends. Both sexes bring something different to the table. When i was a stay at home dad, the house was never "super clean", but it wasn't like there were roaches and rats and stuff. All meals got made, all laundry done, yes even the ironing, al diapers changed, i even pottytrained 2 of my 3 boys. What was different was that i would wrestle or be more physical with my sons than my wife was. But when my wife stayed home, the house and kids were always clean and smelled good. simply put ****SPOILER ALERT***IT DEPENDS

Hi,
I think if one is going to stay home it should be whoever makes less income. Who is better? I think both, if not accustomed to being 24/7 parents, need a little time to adjust to it. It isn't easy. I did it.
If both of you worked previously, who was away from the home more? Do you know the children better than Mom does, or visa versa??
I think statistically Moms are better at home, but this is usually because women generally make less income than men and apt to be the ones who quit working. Also, if a Mom is going to stay home, she could supplement the income babysitting or cleaning homes (if you have one child and he or she behaves or is an infant). I think the public is more willing to have female childcare providers than they are men.
Women are better statistically.
Men should get a chance if they are willing to.

Neither one is "better." To me, that is a harsh and absolute way to put it. These days, the economy is changing, and I think a husband and a wife should work together to raise the kids. Every family is different, and sometimes circumstances change the traditional family dynamic. But men would probably feel more uncomfortable staying at home than women.

It doesnt make one bit of difference if the children are lucky enough to have a parent willing to stay at home. Women tend to be more nurturing while men tend to do things at a more "practical" approach. As long as one loving and caring parent is home it doesnt matter. Its also OK if both parents have to work.

i think stay at home moms r better because, the dads are known as the man of the family who goes out and make the family money, in other words feed the family. moms r better at staying at home cooking and cleaning, after all do you want dad to cook?

Stay at home moms. I know 2 children who had stay at home dads and they have serious behavioural problems. The stay at home dad tends to have a more relaxed attitude than the stay at home mother.
