Dear diary,

Yesterday me and mother played a game. She said other people play it too, but I think she made it especially for me! Well to play this game mother locks me in a closet, and sees how long I can go without eating, she tells me not to tell anyone about this game, but I just felt like you guys had to be included on the fun too! One time I lasted the whole weekend, but she seemed disappointed that I had won, but that's just mother being a sore loser. Sometimes we play this other game too, like this one where mother abandons me down town, and she sees how long it takes for me to make it back home safely, it's so much fun. But I am growing weary due the malnutrition, so I think I am going to rest now. See you tomorrow.

_

My teacher made a big deal about it, and she called my parents and talked to them, and she is the one that told us to be creative and stuff..but there has been no word about me being taken away, but I asked it this way because she made a big deal about it

My son is 16 he writes things like that too. I know it is made up. You have a good imagination. You should think about writing a book. I can understand where the teacher is coming from also. She/he has to report anything like this or she/he can go to jail over it if it was true. I hope you can see it from her/his point of view. Good Luck, Becky

Who found this entry? The entry does not look or read like a childs writhing. If the child in question can write like this then they are also smart enough to know that this kind of behavior is not a game. Kids don't use words such as malnutrition, abandons and kids would not say mother they would say mom. I know I have 3 kids and even though they are all teens and 20's now I know a kids writing. So if the teacher knows about the abuse and does nothing and now the parents that the teacher knows then the abuse will get worse. Where is dad in all of this? I think it is a hoax by someone who is very disturbed. And if not a hoax, then the kid in question should go to the police.

A student who writes things like that puts the teacher in an awkward position, because even if the entry is obviously a joke, it still has to be investigated because should the teacher ignore it and something actually happen, the school becomes liable for negligence, or "ignoring the warning signs". A responsible teacher will check things like this out. Even if the statements themselves aren't true, she will wonder what the underlying motive was and whether there is perhaps another, more subtle form of abuse going on that would cause a "cry for help" to be disguised as a joke. That's what makes the joke not at all funny.

Honey? It is because teachers are required to report anything they think might be abuse. Even if it is fictional, they wonder how a kid would make up something like and that and if they have any suspicions, they must report because if there is real abuse and that would fall under total abuse, that teacher who failed to report it would be fired immediately. You got to admit, it would have alarms going off if I were your teacher even if it was fictional.but I would only react if I knew you were a lot younger than 15. I would feel comfortable in the fact that you probably know your way home from darn near anywhere at your age. Don't worry, at 15, you have a say if a stupid CPS worker shows up at your door. If they do, do not let them in and never sign anything. You have that right. Now, I would worry if they showed up and you have younger siblings in the house. That could cause some serious problems. Good luck.

your teacher is just covering all the basis, there are so many children that are being abused in this world, it is a big responcibility of teachers and other care providers to treat every situation as being serious. i'm sure there would be a thorough investigation before you would be removed from the home they would not act on the journal writing alone.

I don't know, no child young enough to not understand that there is a HUGE problem would be saying things like "I am growing weary due the malnutrition." It seems wrong, but untrue.

Yeah a child would get taken away at least temporary if there is a suspicion of abuse. What kind of assignment did your teacher give you? I see no reason to write something like that, it's very sad.

Well I would have to say if this is a writing assignment then the child has issues and if its true then the mom has serious issues and needs to be check in to a ward with cannibals!!!

This sounds very made up, like an adult wrote it trying to sound child-like. It's not workin' for me. You need to enhance your child-mimicking skills. But to answer, yeah, it sounds as though a child should be taken away if they wrote an entry like this.

Yes I think the child should be taken to Child Care Services because there mother is a abuser to him/her.
