Do you know any recipes that is very high in fibre that is & looks appetizing for a young child. My child since birth is severely almost everytime constipated & we have gone to the doctors, hospitals... Unblocked (it works but the next day, still constipated), given medication but nothing seems to work (they have given me laxatives too take for months but I am very worried that my child's body will adapt & be dependent of laxatives each time my child needs to go to the bathroom. It's even written on the bottles). Getting the best treatments for constipation but nothing is working. My child's appetite is decreasing & I am getting very worried. I hate & makes me really sad to see my child suffer when my child needs to go. My child is so scared when trying cause it hurts so much. There never small nor soft bowels. I am doing my best to give him as much fluids, fibre & balanced meals as I can. I am wondering if anybody have sincere advice & recipes I can work with that can help my child.

QUOTES: I am assuming your doctor doesn't know that you did not give the baby the laxatives. *READ CAREFULLY*

The child should have a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains like 100% whole wheat. *READ CAREFULLY, my child does. As for firbe I give what is recommended. I do my best and try to give ultimate best care I can provide.

Im going through the same thing with my daughter. We have been to the doctors and had MRI's done. She also is suppose to take a laxitive for months but she wont take it. I give her mineral oil in apple sauce and that helps her alot. Maybe you can try that.

First of all, too much fiber too fast will cause bloating and pain in your child's stomach. Also, how old is your child?

You can't just fill a kid up with poop-inducing foods when you are not sure what the problem really is.

If English is not your native language. Meaning, if you were born somewhere besides the U.S. maybe you should find a doctor who speaks your language so s/he can better communicate with you.

I am assuming your doctor doesn't know that you did not give the baby the laxatives.

The child should have a balanced diet with plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains like 100% whole wheat.

Try making a smoothie with some frozen strawberries, blueberries, flax seed (just a little), milk, and toss in a few prunes.

That is, if the kid is over 3 or 4. And don't make the child eat too much. Little kids have appetites that ebb and flow....sometimes they are really hungry and sometimes not.

Hi, My daughter had the same problems for awhile we have now finally gotten it under control.. I would suggest if your child likes oatmeal it is a good source of fiber, also foods like shredded wheat. Also, if your child drinks alot of milk or cheese products this could also cause constipation. I would suggest making sure your child has plenty of fruits and juices. I think that these are the easiest home remedies. My daughter was actually taking milk of magnesia everyday until I thought she would end up dependent on it. Now she eats or drinks something everyday in order to not be constipated. Also depending on the age a stool softener may do some good too.

Oatmeal is high in fiber, and so is applesauce and apples. I think that if you give him oatmeal and apple sauce he will be more likely to eat it because it is soft and not all solid.

Are you giving him lots of milk / dairy (yogurt, cheese, ice cream)?? Those things can cause him to have constipation if you give him a lot.

Karo syrup (the DARK corn syrup) is a natural laxitive that most kids LOVE. Put a few teaspoons in a glass of water or let him dip apple slices in it. Speaking of water - be sure he is drinking plenty of water.

Pumpkin is also a natural laxitive and with Halloween and Thanksgiving coming up, he may be willing to try some pumpkin soup or pumpkin pie.

Prunes, raisens, figs, and pineapple are also natural stool softeners.

Stay away from the bananas and rice! They have lots of binding agents.

Good luck!

If you want to eat truly healthy, lose body fat consistently, normalize your blood pressure, cholesterol levels, prevent cancer, and even boost your brain health and energy levels, you may have heard all over the news that the Paleo Diet has been found to be one of the best methods of achieving all of these benefits compared to any other popular "fad" diets out there. Go here https://bitly.im/aNCDB

The truth is that the Paleo Diet will never be considered a fad because it's just simply the way that humans evolved to eat over approximately 2 million years. And eating in a similar fashion to our ancestors has been proven time and time again to offer amazing health benefits, including prevention of most diseases of civilization such as cancer, heart disease, alzheimers, and other chronic conditions that are mostly caused by poor diet and lifestyle. One of the biggest misunderstandings about the Paleo Diet is that it's a meat-eating diet, or a super low-carb diet. This is not true

Oatmeal or rasin bran are high in fiber.

They also make some fiber supplements that are tasteless. You can stir them into anything the little one likes to eat, or that you cook on a regular basis.

It sounds like you probably need to go see a doctor. They can run tests and give you better advice on how to help your little one.

A good size glas of prune juice each morning and dried prunes to snack on through the day.

Or call Roto Rooter

I agree with the pumpkin. Canned pumpkin is a laxative you can get any time of the year. We mixed it with a little cool whip it was like a sweet moose and did wonders at the home I worked in. Yogurt is a diarhea cure. Good luck

If the child is big enough to eat big people food I'd let him snack on dry cereal like fiber one or raisin bran. That's what I did for my little girl.

They make laxatives for children. Try some of those. Eating fiber won't help them now..it's too late. The fiber helps keep you regular, not make you go when you're already consitipated. Try the laxatives. They are gentle and are made for children.
