Yet my question on what is the world coming to regarding another child being buried today shot dead on the street possibly at the hands of another child you say kids need a smack. I just don't understand.
So many children carry knives guns and steal cars for joy riding
(joy riders have taken several young lives in the past week). How many children have been murdered in the UK recently at the hands of another child. There is no deterrent these days kids certainly are beginning to rule.

I have a 9 y old that is having a very hard time with school, how do i go about trying to get her to stop her fussing and try to learn what she is doing and focus on her schooling. She is very easily destracted in school work and or home work. It puts alot of stress on me all the time being the onlyone that is helping her with her schooling and home life. I live on my own and try to do my best in life for my daughter and her schooling and home life that it makes me sometimes just so frustrated.

I am 27 and have had custody of my daughter (6) since she was 1. I have found it increasingly difficult to find a women that understands my circumstance. It seems as though the women I find care about their children and themselves and my daughter and I have to take a backseat to their needs. How do I change this or am I just looking in the wrong place?

There's tons of people on here who have like over 9,000 points on here. They're like the top-dogs in this section. My question is--how can anyone who spends that much time on here be a good parent? They act like they know everything about parenting yet they spend so much time on here they have thousands and thousands of points. How can these people actually be good parents?

I was wondering what is the typical age most of you parents allowed your child to be at home after school by themselves?

We are looking into adoption, been to family services offices so many times it's unreal. I know they want to be sure that we are good people who will love and provide for this child but good grief! I'm getting so discouraged and wonder if anyone out there can help us get the ball rolling without so much red tape.

Do you compare your children to others? If you are around someone that seems like their children are smarter, sweeter, cuter and better behaved than your children are, how does that make you feel? Do you try to show your child off to prove that they are sweet and smart, too? ( or whatever it is?)

This is just a general question. Please do not give me advice.

I have been reading lots of questions in the parenting sections of yahoo answers & there are SO MANY references to putting kids in daycare... like it's a bad thing. I am a single mother of three. The reason thier father is not around is no one's business and out of earthly hands. I have no choice BUT to put my kids in day care. They are with a woman who has had them since they were babies; she works from her home & has only 3 other kids in addition to mine. My kids are smart, confident & well-rounded. My parents work, my sister lives 1500 miles away... I have to work - or live with my kids on the street. So tell me all you "better-than-me" folks who think I'm an awful mother for "dumping" my kids in day-care... how do I feed my kids, keep them warm, keep clothes on thier backs, keep them insured AND stay at home????

I'm not trying to be mean or rude. It's just that nearly every single person I know who is gay or has had sexual relations with the same sex was either sexually or severly physically abused by a parent or family friend. Do you think there is a link between the two? If so should we raise an eyebrow when teens pronounce their homosexuality, and look into what might be going on at home?

about?
My daughter is grown now. She is 23. But I remember this all through her years, with Drs and teachers too.. All 'professionals'. Even now when I go to the Dr, I'm treated like I really don't even know my own symptoms. If I can, I stick with Drs that believe me.

That gets so irrritating doesn't it?

She falls asleep on my lap at about 9ish and i take her to bed. She has started to wake up crying for me at least 2 or 3 times a night. It's beginning to annoy me as i'm 33 weeks pregnant and getting really tired. She won't have her dad see to her. Sometimes all i have to do is tuck her in again and she's fine, other times she just won't stay in her cot, she gets up as soon as i put her down to lie. Sometimes i'm up for 2 hours with her, always between the hours of 3am and 5am. I've tried cutting down her nap time at lunchtime, and giving her extra milk before bed. I'm running out of ideas what i should do next. She always used to go to bed from 9 until 8 for me, but all of a sudden this waking up in the night has started. Any tips or ideas would be really appreciated as with another baby on the way i want to sort this out asap.

After a year in a relationship I became pregnant and decided to keep the baby. I found out during my 7th month that the father was cheating, he is a womanizer, a manipulator, a big fat liar, a dead beat dad, a user, a control freak and mentally unstable. Most of this information I recieved from his mother, his sister and the mother of his 2 older children.
Since my son's birth the father has turned his family against me by telling them that I have talked negative about them, all because he has not been financially supportive and I told him that I would take him to court. The woman that he was cheating with took him in after I put him out and it turns out she is a lunatic. In the past 9 mnths that they have been together, she has run him down with a car, slept with his friends and the two of them have plotted, in front of his other children, how they were going to take my son and raise him as their own.
Now, he wants me to allow my son to be apart of his life.

Now, everyone knows what I am talking about here...... I go to Wal- Mart, and in the same isle that I am in there is a kid throwing a temper tantrum. The child is screaming, cring, and kicking his mother, but she seems to be ignoring him. Why do parents these days do this?

If people don't disapline their child, it's only going to get worst right? People think it is a sin to spank a child, or to correct them, but why? I got spanked when I was a kid, and I turned out fine. I helped raise my niece and nephew and they got punished when they did something wrong and they new there was going to be consequinces for their wrong actions, especially when we were out in public, so why does society accept a child ruling over their parent instead of a parent taking action like they should?!?!?!?!
