Ok I have this friend who met this guy and got pregnant, broke things off, had the baby, that (guy) said he wasnt the father, the baby is now 1year and 3 months, had a paternity test done, proved to him the baby was his, and now have him on child support. He barely met the baby and says he now wants to be a part of her life. She has a feeling hes just saying that so she can drop the child support. Should she let him see the baby like he wants and drop the charges or should she say no and keep things the way they are? And trust me its a friend! Not me

My 10 year old son got his braces off in July and was given a retainer by the orthodontist. The doctor instructed him on how to take care of the retainer and that if it was lost, there would be a $200 charge.

He is to wear the retainer at night and put it back in the case in the bathroom in the morning.

Several days ago, he was getting ready for bed and I asked to see the retainer. He lied and said that he had misplaced it the day before. After questioning him, I found out that it had been gone for a week. It would have been much easier to find if he had told me in the first place that it was gone. We have dogs who chew everything they find.

I really can't afford the $200 to replace something that was not taken care of properly.

My question is would it be wrong for me to suggest selling his video games to raise the money for the new retainer? He has several hundred dollars worth that he has collected over the last few years.

How do you tell a 16 year old that you are pregnant? My SIL doesn't know how to tell her son. She is about 5 months along and says that she doesn't want him to rebel or to get mad. She has gone through a rough divorce with the father of her 16 year old and because it was some what violent, she doesn't want him to find out either. She is seeing someone who has been very patient and loves her etc. which should be a good thing. When she has the baby, she plans on having her boyfriend move in a year after her baby is born.....I am concerned because I love her and her son, but it seems that she is confused herself and thinks that telling him in late January is best, but I've told her that it doesn't give him time to prepare for a new life in the home.....any advice?

Why do people think it is ok to come on here and criticize people who are just wanting some real advice. I don't understand. Is it cause they are jealous or they just don't understand that people asking a question are only wanting advice on that question. They don't want to hear if YOU think what they choose to do with their life is wrong or not. Do you agree that people should be a little less judge mental. Just cause you can't do it or haven't done it who says your right?

My daughter will be 8 next month, she is highly intelligent and most of her friends are older because of her after school activities (she is tutor and she is in a Science, Computer and Math Club). We try to keep her well rounded and treat her age most of the time but her maturity level is so high I find myself treating her as if she is older. She is very "conflicted" right now about how to act. She is to mature for most of the kids in class and not old enough to go to the mall and "hang out" with her older friends, for this reason I have become the worst mom ever. She whines constantly about everything and does that eye rolling routine every time I speak to her. I know that it is just a phase but I feel partly responsible for her angst because of her academic situation. I have signed her up for girl scouts because I thought more time and activities with girls her age would be good for her, but she doesn't fit in and usually sits off to the side by herself. What do I do?

We have kids having kids and people sleeping with other people's men/women. Then, when they get pregnant and don't know how to tell their Friend, brother, sister etc... they freak out. And... I believe that the only reason they are worried about confessing is that they aren't going to be able to hide the fact that they are pregnant.
I don't care if it was a bf or a husband...it is still cheating. If you were so worried about the other person's feelings, you shouldn't have slept with their significant other to begin with.

Why do people have to go and screw up other peoples lives and their own? Are we that bored with existance that we have to spend our time spreading this disease? when will we grow up?

Another thing, family should be so important to us, that we don't want to distroy our relationship by cheating with their loved one.

My theory is this...remember lucy and ricky? on tv...they didn't even share the same bed!!! underwear commercials were taboo! Now, these things are all over the tv, and stars smutty lives are aired on national television. This kind of life style has become a "Fashion Trend". And as impressionable as we are, we've become the devils advocates.
I'm happily married and was a virgin before my husband. Honestly, I've never even french kissed anyone but him!
We need to bring the glamour back to monogamy!! Marrying as virgins, should be an exciting experience.
I'm not being old fashioned, I'm being realistic...as bad as things have gotten, by the time our kids are our age, I can't imaging how terrible things will be.

You know, little girls having babies is very depressing. I'm 22 and have a 6.5 mos daughter, and although I wouldn't give her up for anything, I wish I could be little again, when we didn't care what other people said, we were carefree, didn't have all the responsibility we do as adults and just take half the day to smell the roses? 13yr olds should be playing with barbies. But people think that's immautre. I played with babies until I was 14. There is too much pressure for our kids to me "mature". I think we should be focusing on making sure they grow up with manners, maturity will be a natural occurence. It shouldn't be forced until they are 18 and still sucking their thumb. LOL

I have a 13 month old girl and I am currently breastfeeding 3 times a day, although even that is a struggle as she wants a lot more. I am 2 months pregnant and really want to stop the feeding way before birth of second child - I don't want to be tandem feeding, as it will be tiring enouth just looking after them and I presonally think toddlers should be moving on and becoming more independent.

Anyway I'm finding it really hard as she really likes feeding and is constantly pulling on my top, if she doesn't get fed she cries and is really annoyed. I try distracting her with a cup of milk or juice and a cuddle but that doesnt really work.
I have heard conflicting advice on what is the best way to stop - some say cold turkey, some say gradually.
What is your advice?

When my brohter was getting married the flower girl was told by here mother at the rehersal dinner that is was very important for her to listen carefully to the wedding director for instructions. A few minutes later the flower girl, teary eyed, approached the bride pointed at the director and said, "Aunt Michelle, that lady is very mean. Mommy told me she's your wedding WRECKER! She's going to ruin your specail day and mommy said I have to help by following her instructions!" We all laughed so hard. I was afraid the bride was going to pee herself!

We are looking to get some sort of buggy thing for our future child and wondered what the best travel thing on the market is. We've noticed the Bugaboo Cameleon as it stands out but is it any good? We are looking for one that is good for pushing around on walks (urban) and durable.
