me and my wife r considering a divorce.we have a 15y/o son and i'm scared about the effect our divorce will have on him vs. the effect of our constant fighting and yelling(if we were to stay together).is it more damaging to child to have his parents divorce or to have parents that constantly fight/yell at each other?

I love my babes and they are the world to me, but just a few days ago i heard a comment when i was at the grocery store about me looking too young to be a mom, at the time i just reacted with a duh! i am, so what? but when i got home i kinda could not stop thinking about it. maybe it did hurt me.

What ways can I help her to understand that since I'm home 24/7 with the baby that the baby needs affection from her as well. Our baby is 13 months old and is getting out of breastfeeding except sometimes when she awakens at night so that's pretty much all she gets from Mom. I fear that our roles have reversed from what is normal socially. I took a hiatus from my job at State Farm to save us money on daycare because for newborns it's like $300 per week. I think she is actually jealous of the way I care for her but I didn't ask to be put in the situation, I'm just making the best of it. What do you do when Mom is jealous of the baby ? It's like she will let her sit on the floor and cry and say, "I'm not going to pick you up. Your father has spoiled you." The kicker is, I don't pick her up often at all and I videotaped my day with her to prove it. I just think she is punishing our baby for the love she gets from me.

I went to the store and bought a crapload of pregnancy tests. I bought 1 of every kind there, I'm looking at them all and there is 11. I KNOW it only happened yesterday.. so why is it that they all say positive for pregnancy? I'm REALLY being serious for this one, I've never been so completely freaked out in my life. How could this HAPPEN to me?? And I would think that after 11 of them telling me that I am, I would have to actually believe it... I must be a month or two along, who knows... But read my other questions! I GOT my period 2 days ago, it was only for a day and a half, then I had sex with my bf and it stopped. I know it wouldn't show I was pregnant from yesterday, so yeah... I made a doctor's appt to find out exactly how far along I am. I'm shaking... I don't know what the heck to DO... I was brushing it off like it was nothing, but I have a big important JOB! I MANAGE, for crying out loud! He wants to keep it.. I won't. I won't have this ruining & stifling me. Tips??

I have five, soon to be six, kids and their ages range from unborn - 6. I have had many funny experiences, and some not so funny, with my kids.
The funniest thing was probably when my oldest told all of the younger ones that the coco-moco monster was going to eat them. My twin girls, 4, decided that they had to do something. Their freind told them they had to make a "potion" to kill the coco-moco. So after everyone was asleep, the girls snuck into our kitchen and got out the flour, the eggs, peanut butter, canola oil, vinegar, and god only knows what else! the made the most rancid mixture I have ever seen! My hubby and I discovered them sleeping on the kitchen floor, covered in slop the next morning. The smell was so gross, I can deal with five kids barfing on me at once, but this was just horibble! The mess was not that funny, Gimme some More funnys!

My husband is going to go to school to be a correctional officer. He'll be home only on the weekends for about 4 months. I'm scared of raising our kids by myself during that time. Do the kids loose their connection with their dad?

She gets up at 6:40 a.m. and is pretty active all day. She'd stay up all night if we let her. She has been staying up til 9 for a while, and getting up at 6:40, but she is hard to get out of bed then. So we are trying to put her to bed at 8, is that a good time?

In about two weeks were going home to dad and his family, who will be seeing the baby for the first time, but the baby screams andcries whenever anyone but myself holds her. Will she act like this with everyone? Her daddy? How can I change this?

My daughter was born on the third of this month and already I am getting the feeling that my husband thinks I'm a bad mom. I'm so tired of it. I talked about it with him when we had our first daughter but now that we have our second child he's become even worst. Everytime I try to hold her he takes her. In the middle of me changing her he takes her. In the middle of the night when she is crying I want to give her some milk he stops me and gives her that formula stuff. When will he learn that I can do things for my daughters by myself. I'm getting so sick of him and that noncess. He even does it infront of my family and sometimes it's embarrasing. I really don't want to have this talk with him again but right now it's about to come out of my mouth. Can someone help me please. I don't want to spend the rest of my life with a control freak who thinks I need his help all the time. GIVE ME ANSWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think my 16mos. old daughter may have consumed some applejuice that she found under my bed. Should I be concerned. Should I call the doctor, she seems to be fine.

OK. So my 2 1/2 year old loves to sneak over to the outdoor faucet and turn it on whenever we spend time in the back yard. The problem is... it's rainy season here in Oregon and due to rain already on the ground, he usually ends up creating an enormous mess or the end of the hose is "hiding" and I don't know the water is still on 4 hours later. I know there are like a million safety gadgets out there, does anybody know of one that keeps those little fingers from turning on the spicket?

I just don't think my son and daughter-in-law work with her enough. They just think she will pick it up when she is ready. I try not to offer advice to any of my kids, but I'm biting my lip on this one! Any suggestions?

My neighbor's son bullies & hits her. He's six and huge, she's tiny. The boy & his sister play with the neighborhood kids in a group in front of my house\in my yard at the end of our dead-end street. Some moms watch & keep order.

If he doesn't get his way he will sometimes punch/slap/kick his mom. I can't stand by while he hurts her, so I have stepped in between them to stop him from punching her, grabbed his hands so he can't hit me, steered him away as he tried to kick.

BTW His dad said it was cute when the kid at 3 "tried to put mom in her place." Her family is overseas. The dad is IMHO emotionally abusive but doesn't hit anyone--just lets kids do what they want. He travels alot. Kid is in private school.

At some point he's going to hurt me or I'm going to hurt him accidentally---or he's going to hurt me & one of my kids is going to cream him.

I'm also worried that if I or one of my kids hurts him we'll be liable. Not letting my kids play outside isn't an option. Help!

my husband and i are considering an international adoption. not because of any recent hype, but because we feel that God might be leading us in that direction. we have one child of our own and she is amazing! but my heart is tugged by children all over the world that will never have a mom and dad, a loving family or toys of their own. has anyone had any first hand expirence with and international adoption? pros/cons? what about raising a child of a different race? is this still an issue in our society? thoughts?

My 3yr old son all of the sudden is afraid to sleep in his bedroom. It started about 4 days ago. He all of the sudden started screaming before we put him to bed saying there are scary things in his room. He even wanted his crib back! My wife and I brought him in and told him there was nothing to be afraid of. We asked what he was scared of and he wouldnt get specific. He has a nightlight in his room. I ended up getting his mobile back out to play while he was in bed...then...I went and bought a liitle light up "sword" (nothing sharp about 12 inches long with a battery that he can use as a little flashlight) and told him that was mine when I was a boy and it was my fathers that we both had to protect us at night. If he ever felt scard he just turns it on and can shine it around to see that there is nothing there. He still whines about bedtime and wants the blanket to be pulled over his head.

Is there any advise so I can get rid of the mobile...again and the light?
