Ok I have this friend who met this guy and got pregnant, broke things off, had the baby, that (guy) said he wasnt the father, the baby is now 1year and 3 months, had a paternity test done, proved to him the baby was his, and now have him on child support. He barely met the baby and says he now wants to be a part of her life. She has a feeling hes just saying that so she can drop the child support. Should she let him see the baby like he wants and drop the charges or should she say no and keep things the way they are? And trust me its a friend! Not me

Either way, she should not drop the child support. She has a child and the father has to pay. If he wants to be a part of his childs life... that's great! But he is still responsible for payments whether he see the child or not.

If she wants him to be a part of the baby's life then yes let him see the baby- But that doesn't mean he doesn't have to pay child support! DO NOT DROP THE CHARGES FOR CHILD SUPPORT! I am no longer with my ex and we have a 2 year old together- he sees her every once in a while, but he still has to pay child support.

Oh this is actually quite easy. At least for your friend. You see if she has a court order stating that he needs to pay child support it doesn't matter if he sees his child or not. The court will still demand child support from the father. The only way that he wouldn't have to pay child support is 1) Give up all rights to his child and/or 2) Have full custody of his child.
Other than that...your friend's ex-whatever will be stuck paying child support until the child is 18.

Well she can go to court and have it to wear she can still get her child support and let him see the baby from time to time because if he is seeing the baby and doesnt do anything for the child then he should still pay child support but i dont think he can get off of child support because he want to see the child now just tell you r friend to be careful

She should let him see the baby and keep the child support thing going. It is his responsibility to help support that child. Visiting with the baby doesn't provide formula, diapers, etc. The courts will also tell you that visitation and child support are two separate issues.

She should not drop the child support and should allow the father to see the child. A father is important to a child. Unless the father has alcohol and/or drugs or is abusive there is no legal or moral reason he should not be allowed to see the child.

he still has to pay child support even if he is a part of the baby's life. And it's a good idea to let him be a part of the baby's life.

being in the baby's life has nothing to do with child support. even though he wants to see the baby, he will still have to pay.

she does not LET him do anything. He is the father seeing his child is a RIGHT not a privilege. She can still keep getting support for the child unless they do 50/50.

If she drops it she will never get her arrears back. Thats how it is in CA

The only way charges will be dropped is if they get married.
