It depends what you mean by misbehave. Are they refusing a teacher's direction or disrespecting the teaching staff? I would ask the teacher what consequence was handed out at school and then arrive on a consequence at home, that supports it. Meet with the teacher with the child present, if possible, so the child knows you are a team and so that the child cannot play one off the other.

I probably should not be answering this question as times have changed. When I was in school, we did everything we could think of to keep our parents from learning there was any kind of problem at school. No matter what, we did not let our parents know about it. If it was my sister, mom handled it. Me or one of my brothers, dad would kick our butts raw and then beat us. We learned "Yes Madam, No Sir at a young age. I wore a suit to class, the teachers referred to us as Mr and Miss and we referred to them as Sir and Madam. When we graduate we could read, write and function. Today the grads can't apply for a job because they can't fill out an application.

One of my core rule is "no trouble in school" period. If one of our core rules is broken the child receives a spanking no questions asked. Teachers have enough trouble managing there classrooms with all the other unruly kids, the last thing I want them dealing with is my girls disrupting class time. My girls must and do respect there teachers, and other school rules. So yes if they break the rules there bottoms will be glowing for a short while

I would definitely speak to the teacher, and get an agreement, both of you, on how you must proceed. This is with the purpose of having her support when he tell on you at school and the other way around. If you both don't compromise, and/or if anyone shall fail, it would be a total loss of time. And I say this because of my own experience.

It depends on what and how many times they have done it before. It could be a spanking (which is not wrong or abuse), a grounding, or taking away a privilege/toy. (For all of you out there who want to criticize me for spanking, you have your ways and I have mine. I was spanked as a child and it did not have any negative affects on me. I only was spanked a few times and I learned quickly. A senseless beating or hitting that leaves bruises is wrong. A few swats on the rear is not.)

when my son misbehaves, depending on the severity - we take away his gameboy , TV time , allowance, dessert, playing outside w/ friends.

The worse the behavior the worse the punishment!

i have called the school and talked with the teachers and the principal about my children and we would discuss the punishment for the child together because of it being something that happened at school
