He's addicted to video games. When a child doesn't have any interest an anything other than video games--that's addiction. Don't get him any more games. In fact, take away the ones he has or limit his game-playing to 1 hour a day. I've done research on video game habits with children and the outcomes are nothing but negative. They teach children violence, increase their heart rate, and can even cause seizures.

He doesn't realize what he is missing out on. He doesn't realize that there are other things out there that are just as or maybe even more exciting than video games. Get him some other sorts of games. Maybe some board games, a Foosball table, or a pin ball machine.

6 hours in front of the tv and video games only? I agree YIKES!! Limit the tv and get him outside with something that is interactive for the whole family to do together. Maybe Mom should care more, definitely NO MORE video games. Good luck!

Maybe a skateboard or sports equipment...something that would encourage him to get outside. 6 hours in front of the TV???? Yikes!
