about?
My daughter is grown now. She is 23. But I remember this all through her years, with Drs and teachers too.. All 'professionals'. Even now when I go to the Dr, I'm treated like I really don't even know my own symptoms. If I can, I stick with Drs that believe me.

That gets so irrritating doesn't it?

I was treated this way by my son's paternal grandmother. I left my 5 month old in her care for the weekend. I was nervous because I didn't really know her. I advised her what foods I'd just started him on and what he should not have. Well she began questioning why I hadn't started him on vegetables, juice and if she could try it. I told her that I didn't think it was a good idea. And I apologized if I was offending her, she commented by saying, "Forget it, I know how you are with your baby". Well she proceeded for the rest of the weekend to know more than I did and gave my son juice, vegetables and garlic water, in a two day period. Needless to say, when I got him back he had a severe diaper rash.
The same thing happened when I took my 6 year old to the dentist. The dentist was giving him a filling, after drilling, and while he was filling a tooth on the right side my son began to scream, I asked the dentist what was wrong, he insisted that it was nothing and proceeded, well my son screaming furiously. I immediately removed him from the chair and proceeded to leave. Don't you know the dentist accused my son of being dramatic and told me I shouldn't baby him.
So, yes i know what you mean and it is very irritating to have someone make judgment against what you know is best for you and your children.

Doctors especially can be like that. It is all about keeping the patient under control.

We once had a "Health professional" who nearly put our son in hospital with her WRONG advice. Fortunately, we were both intelligent enough to be able to work out what was wrong ourselves.

I know what you mean. That is why I ONLY go to Dr.s that LISTEN to me. It takes a while, but it's worth it. If I know what is wrong with my kid, and a Dr. won't listen to me, I find one that will. I have learned over the years to only go to Dr.s that HAVE kids of their own!!! It makes a HUGE difference.
